Sometimes it takes a walk with my dog to get my life in order. Fresh air, waiting while he sniffs some flowers, quiet time to reflect.
After walking my dog this morning, I feel like I am finally ready to jump into the new year. 2012. I am very excited to finally begin this year’s journey!
Personally and professionally, I have some big intents this year.
Here are my professional intents for 2012:
1. For Intent, we are working on “Intent 2.0″ which should launch in March (fingers crossed). I am so so excited about the next version of the site. I think everyone will LOVE it – I do! The design is phenomenal, and it will be focused on intents, supports, and allowing users to continue to tell the story of their intent and support / follow intents and people they feel passionate about. Also, it is built on a new technology platform so we can finally put the chronic slow load times and site problems behind us. This launch will be the biggest thing we have done for Intent to date, so my intent is to nurture Intent 2.0 and make it a success.
2. For Intentblog, we are committed to creating great content this year. I personally feel the separation of the content (Intentblog.com) from the “intents” (Intent.com) honors each side of what we are doing more effectively. Please interact with our bloggers on Intentblog – its your comments and sharing that inspires us all to write more.
(On that note, one personal intent is to write more on Intentblog too!)
3. We are thrilled to once again be working with Sokenbicha this year. Mark your calendars for our public meditation in Union Square, San Francisco, for June 23, 2012. We also want to create a virtual global meditation at the same time as we are meditating in Union Square, or groups in other cities, so stay tuned for signing up for that! Thank you, thank you to Sokenbicha for supporting Intent so we can do exciting things like this meditation!
On the personal front, here are some of my intents:
1. Focus on my health. In 2012, I was plagued with a constant chest infection and colds. Obviously, I am tired and not taking good care of myself. My intent in 2012 is to eat healthier, exercise more, and take care of my body.
OK, its already Jan. 13th, and I’ve already missed the 2 exercise classes I signed up for, and have eaten Tara’s birthday cake every day this week. So, I am re-committing to this intent, and hope you all will remind me to take care of myself!!
2. Balance. My most important intent is to be a good mother. Without balance in my life, I am stressed and not fully effective in anything I do. My intent this year is to slow down, be more balanced, and be a calming (not hyper) influence in my home.
3. Teach more meditation. Last year, I started teaching again after many years, and loved it. Yesterday, I taught 12 ten-year-old girls meditation and was reminded of the gift that meditation has been in my life.
4. Get more involved in advocacy for children. This has always been a passion of mine. My girls are so fortunate to have so much abundance and access in their life. I want to teach them, through my own example, ways we can support others.
5. Focus on writing. More blogs. Perhaps a book on Intent? Stay tuned – I may need your help.
Those are just some of my intents for the new year.

Heh there Mallika, Just showing up to remind you to "Take care of you". You may want to consider just surrendering completely to the Yoda daily walk thing. He knows you posted a note that his walk with you got your attention to pay attention to yourself! Everyday you miss walking Yoda those stares and nose in between the paws with eyes looking up, quietly, patiently, reminding you how good it makes you feel….to walk Yoda…
Happy Happy New Year! rc
My basic intents for 2012 revolve around growth in fitness and health.
All other things are connected to it hence they automatically fall in place.
A major intent is to be a well known celebrity fitness trainer soon.
And thanks god for giving me natural talent and passion for health, fitness – of nature, mind, body, everything
