3 Tips To Enjoy The Holidays More

They say the economy is picking up, but many people are still watching their pennies this holiday season. So how can you celebrate without gifts-o-plenty?

Rather than feel guilty if you’re not buying your child an Xbox 360 or surprising your mate with a special extravagance, step back and look for the deeper meaning of your celebration.

One meaning is that building a happy life has less to do with material goods and more to do with your relationships. Yes, you’ve probably heard this before, I know, but it’s been proven that relationships are a key to your happiness. Think about it . What gifts did you receive last year? Chances are you recall good times together more than the presents.

This holiday season ask yourself: How can I use the holidays to strengthen my relationships with the people I love? Here are a few tips:

3 Tips to Enjoy the Holidays More

1. Write a Personal Letter to the people you love telling them what they mean to you, or thanking them for what they’ve given you. It’s a keepsake they’ll treasure more than a sweater.

2. Give a Framed Photo of you with the people you care about most. The holidays are a great time to celebrate those special connections.

3. Have a Potluck Dinner with family and friends. People get a bigger happiness boost from creating memories together than they do from buying things for each other, so bring on the turkey or latkes or whatever your family loves.
