The word Resolution has as its root the word Resolve. The actual definition of the word Resolution is “the act of resolving.”
While we often use the word Resolve forcefully, as in, “I resolve to lose weight,” there is an alternative approach available to us.
Resolve can also mean “to reduce,” “to cause resolution,” “to clear up,” or “find an answer to.”
What if we approached our “resolutions” in this way? Inviting in resolution to areas that need resolving in our lives and clearing out space for change to take root. Instead of demanding change of ourselves, mindfully encouraging growth in our lives.
