Affirmative Prayers

As a way to cope with my unemployment situation, I’ve found it helpful to recite a few affirmations, or specifically what some in the New Thought Movement call "affirmative prayer". There is much literature on this subject, only a small fraction of which I read by Ernest Holmes. I took a crack at writing a few of these affirmations for myself. They don’t particularly address my unemployment, but rather focus on what I value and wish to attract into my life.

Here they are:

I feel Spirit spring up from deep within my soul and it flows through every channel of my being.

The rhythms of my heart and mind are in sync with the Divine Song.

I take loving care of myself. Universal phenomena unite to work in my favor, and they support me in my pursuit of health, happiness and prosperity.

I recognize a higher purpose and deep meaning in whatever form this moment takes. I honor the present moment and respond to it with love and compassion.

I glorify God’s divine will by respecting and nurturing myself and the rest of humanity.

I am inherently Good, as God is Good, and God dwells within me. I share this Inherent Goodness with the Universe, and in return I receive love, joy, and abundance.

I am authentically happy from the inside out. Thank you God for these wonderful blessings!

About farhad

I'm a 35 year-old divorced man from Phoenix, Arizona. I joined Intent.com on August 15, 2009 to complement my spiritual journey through Life. An urban planner by training, I recently became intimately familiar with the challenges shared by many others in this troubled economy. I'm happy to share with you my experiences through this challenging period. I believe there is a higher purpose to each life situation, whether positive or negative. I foster this attitude by studying the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Ernest Holmes and other figures from various spiritual traditions, both ancient and contemporary. The most valuable insight I have gained so far is that true change begins from within and not without. In the immortal words of Mahatma Ghandi, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

    Dear Farhad,

These are wonderful affirmations. I believe in using affirmations if they are done from the heart and are sincere. So many just say them without feeling. And yours are your own and straight from your heart. Those are the ones that are the most powerful and will bring your desires to you. I say many a day and find the best time is before I get up in the morning and then again at night.

Bless you dear one. Keep being positive and using your affirmations and you will find what you desire.

    Blessings,

    Linda
