Just A Thought: Ambition vs. Enthusiasm!

"Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity." ~ Bo Bennet
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ambition is an attribute held extremely high in today’s society. Ambition is defined as "a strong desire to do or to achieve something." Not to say that it is completely bad, but ambition can also carry with it heavy stress, attachment to outcome, and fear. It can oftentimes place all possible happiness in the future through the achieving a particular goal or attainment of a particular possession. But as A Course in Miracles teaches us, we have cause for happiness now!
So in approaching particular goals, find every way to enjoy the journey. Do what you love, and be excited about doing it! The word enthusiasm actually comes from the Greek word, entheos, which means, "inspired, possessed of a God." I like to call it, aligned with God.When we are enthused about something, we surge with positive energy, and our physical reality becomes a reflection of that wonderful state. The old saying, "Smile, and the world smiles with you," actually holds a lot of truth.
Ambition places happiness in the future. Enthusiasm places it deeply in the now, with trust that the future will work itself out. Today, choose to be enthused!
