Blueberry Heaven

Yes, Maine has been blueberry heaven.  This is “National Blueberry Month,” and what a month to be on a pilgrimage in the piece of heaven.  We began the day with blueberry waffles with delicious blueberry syrup cooked with such loving intention by Betty.  We sauntered around for the day window shopping in Camden Maine and ran into an ice cream shop with their specialty of course, blueberry ice cream.  The happy cows from Vermont donated the rich cream and the hard working blueberry farmers donated the sweet tender blueberries.  Of course Jim and I had a double scoop of Maine blueberry ice cream.  To finish the day in blueberry fashion, we dined on Halibut with a balsamic blueberry reduction sauce.  I honor the blueberry as a sacred healing food so to immerse my body, mind and soul into these blueberries was truly heaven on earth.

One Response to Blueberry Heaven

A trip to Maine during the summer of 2007 spoiled me – the blueberries there are so delicious, I can't eat store-bought bluberries anymore! While I was there, I even piled blueberries into every glass of water I poured and would eat the blueberries as I drank the water. I couldn't get enough of them!

[A word of caution to people with kidney stone issues, though, because I read somewhere that blueberries can contribute to one type of kidney stone, and that's no fun.]
