According to dictionary meaning – the word miracle means an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs or an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment.Sometimes, the word is also used in a broader and more general sense to refer to things which are wondrous, beautiful, and life-affirming. I use the word miracle in both sense. Do you believe in miracles? Do you see miracles on a daily basis? Do you care to see?
At the time of conception, our body was just a single cell and yet when we were born, the single cell become a fully developed baby. This is a miracle. Even right at this moment, while you are reading this message, there are hundreds of processes going on in your without conscious intervention. Our body at any given moment, is digesting the food, making new cells, circulating blood, maintain body temperature, maintaining blood pressure etc… all at the time.
To read this message, the light from the computer screen is transmitted to your eyes, the eyes transmit the signals to the brain and the mind makes sense of the message. Mind uses memory, ability to remember, ability to discern – to make sense of this message. All of this happens instantaneously like magic.
If we are breathing at this moment and feeling our life and existence, it is a miracle. There are so many things that can go wrong, and yet we are alive right this moment. What else can we say about our life except it is a miracle. If we are alert to the moment, we can see so many miracles around us.
You may wonder what is the point in seeing the miracles? How does it help me to pay my bills or heal my relationships or heal my body. Few years ago, I learned from Deepak Chopra an affirmation – “In every decision I make choose between miracles and grievances. I choose the miracles letting go of grievances”. The way I use this affirmation is to remind myself to choose the reality I want based on the thoughts I have in my mind. Since we have a choice in choosing our thoughts, we can create our reality, by seeing the miracles in our life instead of grievances.
Let me give a personal example – If I am alert enough, whenever I have an reaction in my mind towards a person or situation, I tend to see the reaction as a miracle.Every reaction I have in my mind shows something lying in my unconscious/subconscious mind that is unresolved. Without this person or situation to trigger my unconscious reaction, I will not be able to release toxic emotion or toxic belief or toxic attitude. When I consciously let go of the clutters in my mind, it helps me to see the reality as it is, to make choices that are evolutionary, to make choices that unite rather than separate.
When our mind is clear, we can tap into our creativity or miracles to heal our body, to heal our relationships or to address any challenges.
