I LOST A FRIEND SOME TIME AGO.
HE WAS THE TYPE OF FRIEND WHO NEVER ASKED FOR MUCH MORE THAN A HUG.
HE LIKED TO GO OUT FROM TIME TO TIME AND CUT LOOSE AND I WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO GO WITH HIM
WE WOULD WRESTLE AROUND LIKE IDIOTS AND I WOULD GET MAD CUZ HE WOULDNT STOP BUT HE WOULD ALWAYS APOLOGIZE AND THINGS WOULD GO BACK NO NORMAL.
EVERYONE SEEMED TO LIKE HIM FOR THE SAME REASONS I DID AND IT WOULD BE HARD TO KEEP HIM FROM SHOWING OFF
HE WASNT THE PATIENT TYPE SO WHEN HE WANTED TO DO SOMETHING HE WOULD WHINE AND BABBLE TILL I AGREED
BUT HEAVEN FORBID I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING
IF I SAT DOWN FOR A MINUTE AND ATTEMPTED TO GET UP TO DO SOMETHING,HE WOULD LITERALY SIT ON ME SO I COULDNT MOVE ALL THE WHILE HE HAD THIS BIG DUMB GRIN ON HIS FACE. HE WOULD PUT HIS FACE RIGHT IN MINE DARING ME TO MOVE. I WOULD LAUGH LIKE AN IDIOT CUZ HE WAS NOT IN THE LEAST SMALL
OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVED HIM, HE PICKED ME TO BE HIS BEST FRIEND
GOD I LOVED JUST WALKING WITH HIM AND TALKING TO HIM
HE ALWAYS ALWAYS HAD TIME FOR ME AND I TRIED TO MAKE HIS WORLD AS HAPPY AS HE MADE MINE
WELL IM GUESSING SOMEWHERE IN HEAVEN THERE WAS A LITTLE BOY OR GIRL WHO WERE TO YOUNG TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN….AND THEY JUST NEEDED A FRIEND
IM NOT SURE I WAS DONE WITH HIM…I MISS HIM

They are something else aren't they. Dog/God

John & Kyle,
Dogs are some of the best "People!" : )
This is a beautiful piece of writing, I love it. You were blessed to have Chuck, and Chuck was blessed, as well, to have you.

Dear John,
Chuck is not far from you at all. He is right there beside you in fact. Keep talking to him just as you did when he was here. Dogs are so amazing and I adore them. I have always had a dog and always will. Another Chuck will come your way and open up to let him into your life!
Blessings,
Linda
thanks guys, I just noticed a lot of animal lovers on here and thought i would share a little bit about my buddy…English bulldog….was like a little person…
dear john,
thanks for this post full of love.. i too adore dogs.. they are God's greatest gift to us.
Wish you love, peace and happiness.
Trisha
I love what Kyle said above… dog/god… so, so, so, so, soooo true! The relationship between man and dog is like no other, and until you've felt the unconditional love of a dog, you haven't yet fully lived.
John… thank you for such a beautiful story, you brought tears to my eyes this morning. I think you're right when you said that some little girl/boy needed a friend, so that is why your angel was called home, and I truly believe that about my fur-baby too. Our angels are flying free now, waiting for us!!
Love and blessings,
Sharren
Thank you Sharren, Some people dont understand why this was so devastating.I cant talk about him to this day without crying. He was just this perfect little spirit that I find hard to describe.I actually worried about his happiness and because of one moment I wasnt paying attention,,I lost him…I cant tell you how .its pointless. But he made me so happy and I try and focus on that.
dont want to be a downer here so lets just know that God creates creatures to enrich our lives and not for our amusement and my life was better from knowing my little buddy chuck
LOVE JOHN
John–
Old news, but just found this…
Our dog friends are so special, and I feel the bittersweet in your reminising.
I have a 16 year old buddy, that I know will be among other 4 legged angels
in the next couple years. I just keep an open heart about being able to share
his love and devotion.
