Connection

The past few days of travelling to Winnipeg for (Canadian) Thanksgiving have been like a see-saw (or teetertotter) for me.  In one moment I am centred and in the next my mind jumps to ‘whatifs’ around the business and I feel a surge of excitement.  I’ve been fairly good at reminding myself that even when times are good that balance and being centred is important.

In thinking about this idea I spent some time contemplating the idea of connection.  During this period the following poem arrived.  I’m definitely in a place where I’d rather stay centred than in excitement at future possibilties.

Connection

How would the journey feel,

if we left goals at the feet of change?

What if the focus was connecting,

Divine flow far from strange?

Bringing finity to the physical,

seeking predictability.

But what part of us is comfortable,

with connection to timed-space that we see?

Living awareness of our feelings,

immersed in present, not in ends.

Unsolicited goals connecting,

love seen in strangers and in friends.

If there’s something bigger than everything,

that’s created the all that we know,

then surely the self too was created,

for us to connect, express and to show?

We’re not needed to be only Being.

There’s purpose to integrating whole.

To feel awe in our everyday lives,

takes willingness and connection to soul.

About Carmien

While I feel drawn to express a little of my experience with you there is nothing that I could write that could possibly capture the moments themselves. Like the difference between the physical world and the spiritual one, my words are but a shadow, a pale reflected projection. But, I shall recklessly stand in my desire to fan your fire anyway, and share with you some of my fire.

I am a Philospher-Poet. Poetry and a quest for wisdom writes words through me. And should you see something in these words that uplifts or inspires you, then know that all that you see you can see because it is inside you already.
I blog at http://carmien.com/.  I would love to connect with those of like mind and those who recognize that there is something within but that are looking for ways to connect to the mysteries of life.

Connection?

After a series of emails to straighten out a misunderstanding that proved progressively frustrating, I repaired to the telephone this morning, and what a relief! We got the matter cleared up in minutes.

Instead of getting continually twisted into the written word, a few spoken sentences solved the problem and added value to the exchange. A miracle! Why? Because of genuine connection.

I’m beginning to feel the discomfort in email. There is no voice quality to tell us what’s really going on for the other person. There are no pauses. It’s slick, and, a lot of the time, too fast. Do I sound like a fuddy-duddy to you?

Maybe I am, but I don’t care. Or, I do, but perhaps I care too much.

A colleague and I had the kerfuffle this morning. It was silly. We went several email rounds before I called. I’m shy, I admit it. I like the written word. And it takes time to write what one means.

It also allows me not to connect, not really.

A friend and I had a long visit on the phone one evening. It had been over a year since we’d talked, and I’d missed her. It was sheer delight. We laughed and cried and picked up right where we’d left off. It was delicious, and we promised it wouldn’t be a year before the next time.

Interestingly, one of the things we talked about was her two just-out-of-college assistants. She told me that they prefer texting and email to face-to-face any day, and that she has to push them into face meetings! In addition, my friend observed that these two aren’t very good at actual connection. Virtual connection, no problem, but real, in person connection, nope! I felt sad.

I’m beginning to feel like email is a sometime cop-out, like texting is no stand-in for personal connection. I also feel that personal connection is underdone these days, and that virtual connecting is overdone.

May I suggest we feed our own spirits and souls and plan a genuine connection here on planet earth at least once a day? The God Within will thank us for it.

Connection

We are often asked if this can be defined as a soulmate. In linear time the need for definition crowds the experience limiting the view point of the parties involved.

Energy is simply energy. When it has the same inception and vibrates with the same consistency it easily gravitates to familiar territory. The connection blends together recreating the environment from which both energies were formed.

From most linear points of view the connection appears to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. They do not take into consideration the dramatic moments enlisted by the energies to learn and evolve. Sometimes the exterior moments detour the connection for that current point in existence.

The so called disconnect from like energies occurs most often in this manner.

As disappointing as it may be it would be better to understand that more than one energy intersection is possible in any given timeline.

The romantic notion of one and only has been enhanced through unrealistic perspectives.

So the answer to the soulmate question reveals itself to be a multiple if one adheres to all the energetic probabilities available.

Soulmates are not limited to male/female romances. They may also occur between female/female and of course pets within the the time frame.

In the search for a perceived soulmate openness to all probabilities is warranted. Often the energy connection occurs without warning when both parties are engaged in a relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly be your true self. Another conversation will reveal the path to that moment.

Be open.
Be without opinion.
Be yourself.

You never know what your pure energy will attract."
