Well don’t bother asking your friends or family if you’re feeling lonely. Simply put this warm and snuggly jacket, and you’ll always feel happy and cozy inside. This crazy (or creepy?) looking jacket — which features a row of clasped hands along the front zipper — is the invention of designer Si Chan, who created it for his Fall/Winter 2012-2013 men’s collection called Hug Me. According to Yahoo, Chan says he designed the kermit-the-frog-colored piece to make the wearer feel “warm and hugged.”
Right. We’re still trying to figure out whether the guy in the picture is being suffocated by a headless extra-terrestrial or smothered with love by his jacket!
Chan explained that hugging hands are a symbol of how people “express love” and “depart from loneliness,” insisting that his hope is to inspire people rather than creep them out. The jacket pictured above is only a prototype, but Chan hopes to produce it for sale online this winter. Price? Just $1200.
A little expensive for a hug, no?
What do you think? Cool or creepy?
