The Crazy 5! ~ Five Things You May Not Know About Me

Yes, it’s blog tag time. :)

What is blog tag? If tagged, you have to blog five things we don’t know about you. Then you have to "tag" five other people, and link to their profiles from your post. Notify tagged users with a message to make sure they know what is going on.

The goal: To get to know each other :) If someone intrigues you, but you haven’t said ‘hello’ yet- now is your chance to find out more about them.

Any questions? Ask me or Dave, who got the ball rolling in the first place (and yes, Dave, I too am a chronic MySpace survey poster!) And thank you, Olivia, for tagging me (and by the way, I loved visualizing you jumping up and down in the bathroom, screaming silently to yourself when you won at poker the night you met your sig other – too cute!!).

Your tarot cards are beautiful. The goddess coloring book images are too. You are very good at what you do thank you for sharing them with us.

I would gladly accept some homemade cookies from you.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Ha ha ha… thank you Mark! And I assure you, I do make a pretty darn good cookie. If it had been 6 Things I would have added the fact that I love to bake. Rest assured though, no Counter Kitties allowed in the process so cat hair would be minimal. :)

I was very drawn to your image inscribed "Theotokos." Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians often refer to Mary as Theotokis or "God beare,r" as I'm certain you know. I am grateful that you too are a God bearer, especially through your love for children and your family. May your mom's love and blessing always be alive in your heart. Peace, Greg

    Hi Greg!

That's right – Theotokos is the "God Bearer". My understanding is that this is what the word literally translates into in the Greek language. Some may argue that she's not a goddess in the truest sense of the word and they have a point. Mary Theotokos, as the story goes, was a mortal woman chosen to be the vessel to bring through the Holy

Spirit in manifested form upon the earth. But in my opinion, this in and of itself makes her an archetype of the Divine Feminine. In our western world, what other feminine figure is held in such high esteem, is prayed to and revered above Mary? She's a figure of empowerment for many and that's why I chose to include her in the project.

And thank you for your kind, supportive words and blessings! They are greatly appreciated, my friend!

Thank you so much, Sal! My work is my joy. And even if no one else appreciated it, I'd still do it simply because of the joy factor it brings to my own mind, heart and soul. But it's always nice to hear someone else enjoys it too. :) XOXO

Renee, I'm glad I tagged you. Your illustrations and paintings are very beautiful. I love animals too. It's a marvelous image of you as Snow White, feeding the birds, opossums and cats.

    Your work is gorgeous Renee!

    Hi Renee,

Thanks for sharing part of your story with us! You are extremely talented and I can't wait to see your Goddess Coloring Book. Awesome idea and how wonderful it must be to have your girlfriends be models for it. I can feel the love and bonding from here! You are very fortunate, indeed, to be surrounded by such wonderful friends :>).

Please let me know when the coloring book is finished. I would love to purchase one for myself and would be interested in hearing about your marketing plans for it.

Ok…I'll do my blog post and tags later today. Take care!

I'm glad you tagged me, and I will be playing, but I know I have nothing as magnificent as your accomplishments… Beautiful work on the Tarot Cards.

My deepest thanks to Olivia, Prachi, Linsey, Rebekah and Jennifer!

You're compliments touch my heart and make me smile. I am deeply humbled and grateful for your praise of my work.

To Linsey ~ Enlisting my friends to help me with the project wasn't planned. It just sort of happened organically – but I'm so happy it did and that everyone I'd asked gave their consent. At this point, I have friends asking to be included rather than the other way around. Unfortunately, I can't include everyone in this project because I don't want a culture imbalance. Thankfully though, I have a lot of ideas for future projects and will need more models for them once this one is complete. :)

At this point I'm focusing on the work rather than fussing about and seeking out a publisher. I'd like to present my vision in it's entirety when it comes time to solicit. I'm currently working on Illustration 26 out of what will be a total of 44 so I have a ways to go yet. However, I've been "putting it out there" that when the time is right, the perfect opportunity will present itself. I trust it will as this has always been the way things have developed for me throughout my life. I'll be sure to keep you abreast of the happenings as they progress. :)

    And to Jennifer ~

I'm happy I tagged you, too! I'm certain though that you have many "magnificent accomplishments" and I can't wait to read all about them!

    Wow!

Gorgeous work! Thank you for sharing with us!

Looking forward to seeing this in print…good luck with the workload. Creating something beautiful is aweinspiring and very satisfiying!

I'm a closet graphic designer at the moment due to workload but you've inspired me to start thinking about hauling out the sketchpad again!

    Thanks!!!

    Blessings
