This season of the year between summer and winter, lasting from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice and from September to December in the Northern Hemisphere; fall. A time of total maturity and lingering on decline, this is the season for harvest in our lives.
The Scent of Fall
Using Scents to evoke specific moods is a part of ancient medicine. Fall scents can evoke our appreciation for bounty.
Wonderful oil blends of clove, myrtle, cinnamon, rich mahogany and amber are wonderful to wear or to heat up and smell the season to life! Another fall favorite is Zegna Colonia from La Dolce Vita offering warmth and comfort with bergamot, cardamom, neroli, cedar, musk and other fascinating additions.
You can also try a light spray of Angel by Thierry Mugler, both the men and women’s versions are great for fall. A peek into the women’s version offers chocolate, vanilla, caramel, berries, honey, patchouli, and bergamot while the men’s version releases a blend of mint, coffee, caramel, lavender and other incredible scents.
If you don’t enjoy any of these base scents use the ones you do enjoy to evoke this delicious season of fall!
The Colors of Fall
Changing out art work, pillows, bed linen and throws seasonally enhances our overall mood. I love hanging up pictures or paintings of gold’s, greens, chocolates and blacks and dressing the chairs or couches with the same family colored throws and pillows. Nothing special or expensive, most of the art work is pieces I have crafted over the years. Celebrating this season with color is enjoyable, especially if you live in a dessert or tropical environment where you don’t get to watch this beautiful season paint the trees with fall colors as autumn and fall takes it place.
Fall flowers are another way to add color into your home. You will see loads of Mini Calla Lily, Roses and Hydrangea available now for your pleasure in stores. These beautiful little flower friends of color and scents also welcome in the fall season.
The Foods of Fall
With the summer fruits turning tart, it is great to see the local farmers’ market full of organic colorful and hardy choices that can create some savory meals and comfort foods for this time of year. Some of our favorites are wild mushrooms, kale, kiwi fruit, applies, grapefruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, dates, lemons, limes, mandarin, navel oranges, tangerines, clementines, blood oranges, pomegranates, quinces, pears, turnips, fennel, and loads of winter squashes (just avoid the bottle neck genetically modified ones
)
If you are a gardener, it is almost time to reap the benefits of your personal harvest. Cooler weather vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage are great for this time of year. Radishes and leaf lettuce can be planted several times because they are ready quicker. Other veggies that do well in fall gardens are kale, collards and spinach. Root crops, turnips, chives and rutabagas are easy to grow and are packed with nutrients. I can’t even count how many organic rutabagas my son ate steamed and mashed with sea salt from 12 months to the age of 2. The coldest of climates won’t stop leeks, mache and mustard leaves from growing all season.
Welcome Fall With A Party
Autumn and Fall is a great time of year for garden parties so everyone can enjoy the soft bursts of burnt orange, deep yellow and rust red foliage decorating the environment. Or go in doors and enjoy each others company with some wonderful fall drinks. Here are a few recipes I had listed in a previous blog for you to enjoy.

Wonderful ways to celebrate the senses, seasonally or thematically, Americans can always use more of this in order to experience the joy everyone seems to be craving. Keep it coming, Renay.
I'm so thrilled. I just collected a carrier bag full of freshly fallen walnuts!
Will they make it to Christmas……I doubt it. Fresh like this, one can still remove the rather bitter skins from the kernals within……you don't know how delicious they be

Renay, you have the best articles! There is always something to enliven my senses. Thanks again, this is another great one.
Renay, Your Eco-friendly cleaning products article is fantastic. It has collected a bunch of spam so I am leaving you a note here. I live using almost no chemical cleaning products and get by very well. Often I wonder about Eco-friendly, and more so non-toxic, mixtures that I could use when just warm water is not enough. I will definitely test out some of your mixtures. Thanks much.
Thanks Creative Evolution. I am so enjoying this season and all it has to offer.
Thank you Stephen, yes I have noticed that the spam has collected on that article!
Weird thing, but I am glad you enjoyed the eco friendly cleaning write up. I am in love with vinegar! It saves money, has no chemical effect and really does clean just as good in my opinion.
I look forward to getting to know you better!
Yours in Wellness,
Renay
