Since losing my job at the beginning of the year, I’ve been struggling with my finances and trying to figure out where my next paycheck will come from. I’ve put a lot of energy into my writing (on several different sites), looking for new clients (as a parent coach and marketing consultant) and have success with at least being able to put food on the table.
"If people lose their jobs or a lot of money, it will only be because those things are not for their higher good. Such events will change their lives in some way for the better. If anything is truly serving your higher good, it won’t be taken away."
My family & friends are supportive and encourage me to follow my dreams, even if it means working long hours with little pay. Luckily, my dear friend and life coach let me borrow a book that has truly helped me to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Creating Money by Sanaya Roman & Duane Packer is all about "attracting abundance" in our lives, and the idea is that we need to believe and accept that we deserve abundance (in all aspects of our lives) in order to allow into our lives.
With affirmations and stories that help readers truly understand how to change their ways of thinking regarding money and our value and worth, this book is a must-read for anyone who’s ever been laid off or who is questioning their career path!
"Taking the time to do nurturing activities gives your subconscious a message that you are a worthy person who deserves to have your goals met."
Of course, as a parent, one of the things I’m concerned about is the messages that I’m sending my son regarding money.
"Children are accustomed to receiving things from their parents, and many people expect to receive from the universe in the same way…If your parents were generous and giving, you may believe in a generous and giving universe. If your parents denied you many of the things you wanted, you may still be denying yourself the things you want."
My parents were very successful and are quite comfortable in their retirement, but we never sat down and discussed finances. I don’t blame anyone for my financial situation and I was grateful that the authors addressed so many issues that I’m sure many people think about.
"What you have and where you are today are the results of all the choices and decisions you have made."
So, parents, remember that your job is to help your children grow up to make choices that are healthy and good and that will benefit them and hopefully, society. We have a big responsibility here and even if you’re not working in a job that "creates money" remember this:
"What you are here to do is as important a contribution as anyone else’s…"

That's a pretty good book. Best wishes in working with it.

Brigit
