I once read a Native American book on dance that said, "if you have not danced you have lived. If you don’t dance all you have is sickness in your life." I sat in a workshop the other day, everyone was so serious. I have spent over fifteeen years helping people to heal. But I am now believe that healing comes with a release of our creative soul. It does the work for us. Our voices get lost behind the rubble "of Mr., Miss., and Mrs Serious". And for those in the healing arts, why do we sit there like voices of so much authority, so serious all the time. Let’s laught, write and paint our souls alive.
It’s all in the tip of the pen,
the beginning of my paintbrush,
the soft brush of my soul,
all that I ever wanted,
all the power I ever craved,
everything I ever felt
I should be and more.
Now soul I meet you face to face,
on the brink of utter joy.
Never let me not smile again.
Please remind me when I am being too serious
Or when my heart is filled with jealousies.
Keep me straight,
the circle of remembrance open
in the dance of your autum,
the swirls of your summer,
the force of your nature.
