Don’t Be Afraid To Change Course

Sometimes the best laid plans can go awry. We all know it. Life just doesn’t always work out the way it is supposed to. Well, let me rephrase that. Life doesn’t always work our the way we think it is supposed to. We have our ideas of what should happen, what is the best for us. But sometimes the universe has other ideas. Let’s examine this a bit.

Let me state the obvious that we are having a human experience here on this planet. But many of us will agree that there is more to us than simply this human experience, right? I would say that we are truly all spiritual beings with a human experiential perception. In other words, our perceptions of where we are, what we are doing, how something feels to us, tastes to us, smells, if we like something or not are based on this human experience. This is also our direct conscious perception.

But there is more than meets the eye, literally, at work here. Our conscious mind is like the tip of the iceberg in the sea of our overall conscious self. It is but a tiny fragment, only a sampling of what really runs us. Our subconscious mind, the stuff underneath the surface, is what really is directing this picture, painting this canvas that we live in, breathe in, and call home. Our core beliefs, our true feelings, the real heart of the matter is deep down in our subconscious mind.

Now, I believe this is where we can really gain some control. For example, remember my first statement, "Sometimes the best laid plans can go awry". To our conscious mind, we might look at a problem, our failing plan, our perfectly thought out idea that crumbled to bits, and think, "what the heck, I did everything right and still got nowhere".

Well, looks can be deceiving. Because what may be happening is that your subconscious mind, that sees a lot more than the conscious mind ever can, is sending you a message. See, our subconscious communicates to us in a different way than our conscious mind. Our subconscious mind usually shows up indirectly; possiby as a problem of some sort. It can’t just tap us on the shoulder and say "Hey Jamie, don’t do that. Go the other way" or, "no, no choose differently, choose the other business, that’s the one for you." (well, it can, but that’s another post altogether). No, the subconscious mind is much more subtle.

So when plans are going all wrong, when it seems everything you are doing is not going as planned, maybe take a step back and think for a second. Maybe you need to change your plan of attack. Maybe this is a message being sent to you from your deeper mind, letting you know that you should be flexible and not afraid to change course if your current course is not working. The universe can see everything that we cannot, so my advice is to listen to it! Just take a deep breath and realize that this particular setback is going to help you in the long run. Some of life’s biggest blessing come wrapped in heartbreak, pain and struggle. This is how we grow.

So do not be afraid to change course, switch up the plan, regroup and start over! Remember, there is a bigger part of you that sees the whole picture. Get in touch with that part of you and listen to it when it is speaking to you. I hope this message reaches those who need to hear it right now.

Peace,
Jamie
