I admit it. I AM a worry wort, and as we enter 2009 after such a roller coaster ride in 2008, it is easy to worry. Most people are worried about their jobs and generally worried about the state of the world.
NOW IS THE TIME WHEN WE ARE PUT TO THE SPIRITUAL TEST……….many of us talk the good talk and say things such as “live in the moment” or ” be grateful for the day before you” or “we give thanks for each breath of life.” Now is the time when we get to either practice what we preach or become eternal worry worts. I ask myself and I ask you “What is your choice?”
No matter what is going on, the moon is beautiful. No matter what is going on, the flowers are fragrant. No matter what is going on, the laugh of a child or the smile of a loved one is inspiring.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO COPE WITH WORRIES?

I'm a Vata prone to worry—even excessively at times. Which they've now determined could be a form COD—such letter to describe who we are and why we do what we do, eh? *laughing*
Well what I want to know is how to combat those tendencies. *grin*
Sooo here goes, first off I'll feed me healthy foods that reduce the tendency toward anxiety which means no white sugar or caffeine that sends me to WorryVille for sure. Then I'll do Yoga, meditate and pray a lot—but uh……..being me I figure I'll still be worrying…….hehe….but not as much as I would otherwise! *grin*
Hi Carole,
Let me offer advice from someone wiser than myself: Ekart Tolle, who says that there are now worries when one focuses on the now. I’ve found this to be true.
My military experience tells me that when the poop hits the fan, it’s too late to bring to bear skills that could have helped you. Therefore, it is important to make second-nature your skills before you need them so they are there when you need them.
Living in the now is a skill that’s easily developed. That skill will miniature your moments of worry. Soon, you will find that you have no worries. It is one sure indicator that you have become a finder.
