Eliminate “Bad” Foods from Your Kitchen

Why the Life Force Diet & Planning for Success

Henry Ford said, “Before everything else, getting ready is the secret to success.”  So, today, plan for success in creating a healthier and happier version of you.  The link between the food choices you make and your overall physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health cannot be stressed enough.  Food provides the building blocks of every cell in your body.  Food that is heavily processed, loaded with sugars and fats or that contains chemicals in the form of preservatives, colors, and artificial flavors, cannot build life force in your body.  It has none to offer.

Before we get started on The Life Force Diet, begin today and over the weekend to cleanse your home of unhealthy foods in preparation for cleansing your body of unhealthy substances.  Here are a handful of things you can do over the next few days to prepare for success:

  • Rid your fridge and pantry of items you know are unhealthy.  Let’s face it:  most of us don’t need a nutritionist to know we’re eating some foods that are unhealthy. Today’s a great day to make a fresh start for great health by purging these items.

  • Then, begin to read labels on the foods in your home.  Look for trans fats and eliminate foods that contain them.  They are what I call “plastic fats” that even the strongest liver cannot break down.  They have no place in our bodies.

  • Check for ingredients on the label that end in –ose such as glucose, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, maltose, etc.  We’ll be discussing these hidden sugars more next week but begin to eliminate foods that contain hidden sugars.

  • Look for artificial ingredients like colors (typically they contain FD&C or just a number such as “1” or “blue dye number 1”).  Throw out these chemical-laced “foods.”

  • Eliminate white flour and sugar and foods made with them.

While it isn’t necessary to eliminate all of these foods over the next few days if it feels too overwhelming to do so, it is a good idea to slowly remove foods that sabotage your health and wellbeing.  If you need to go slower, then by all means do so.  The Life Force Diet is all about creating a healthier, happier version of you.  I’ve created a pace for change that is fine for many people, but you still need to respect your specific needs.  Change of any kind can be stressful.  Keep in mind that by eliminating unhealthful substances, you’re creating room in your home for health and wellbeing.

But, mostly change can provide enormous opportunity.  The Life Force Diet is all about change for the sake of the opportunity to experience renewed vitality, resistance against illness, and powerful life force energy.

donuts are my downfall!!!! there's an amazing donut and coffee place in LA that i go to every saturday, and it is so evil but so deliciously amazing…. :)

michelle, do you have any food vices that was really hard for you to give up? i am quite curious :)

Michelle, this is really informative and simple. I didn't know that all the -ose foods were unhealthy. It seems that so many products contain them. I've also been less strict about not buying transfat foods (although I do the bulk of my shopping at Trader Joe's, which is a pretty healthy conscious store).

I have my food vices like everyone else. I'm a pie lover. Fortunately fruit pies are my favorites but most pies from bakeries are loaded with trans fats, colors, sugar and other junk that I try to avoid. But, it gets easier to skip the "treats" once you start feeling the health improvements from eating a healthier diet. Plus, cravings typically lessen as you give your body more nutrient-rich food. That's what it really wants.

I'll be discussing cravings and what you can do to lessen or eliminate them over the coming weeks. Equally important, I'll be sharing insights into what your cravings mean, all of which I explain in detain in my book, The Life Force Diet.

Thanks Balanchine. The worst offender is high fructose corn syrup. It's in most packaged food and research shows that it greatly contributes to weight gain. Steer clear of corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup.

As a raw food beginner, I love the way you have reworked this concept to make it more accessible! Thank you! I cannot wait to learn more…

Thanks Sharon. I wanted a program with all the benefits of a raw foods diet without the hours of food preparation, costly equipment, and without having to eliminate delicious cooked food either. I'm glad you like the approach I've taken in The Life Force Diet. Be sure to check out the info in my book, including:

Eliminating bad foods in our diet increases our chance to live longer by avoiding diseases that would cause our death. If you like cooking, but want to watch a reality show that leaves out the reality of actually making food
