Flu Shot, Yes or No?

My son’s pediatrician’s office called yesterday to tell me they had the flu vaccine in and would I like to make an appointment to get one for my 12 year old son. This is the regular flu vaccine, as they do not yet have the swine vaccine. I do not know what to do.

Last year, my son and I both got the mercury free version of the regular flu shot. It costs more than the regular (with mercury) vaccine but I figured it was worth the extra money to avoid exposing myself, and my son, to needless toxins. I had a reaction to the shot, where I felt flu-like for about six hours afterwards. My son had no reaction at all and neither of us got the flu.

The last time I was really sick, I had a fever that lasted for days and horrible congestion. I was so sick I couldn’t sleep. I was sure it was the flu and went in to be tested. It wasn’t. It was just a virus. I love how they say, "just a virus" when it isn’t the flu. I wanted to die with this little virus. It took quite awhile to get well too.

Meanwhile, the dilemma remains regarding the current flu shot. Should we get it? There are potential side effects that are serious, like Guillain-Barre syndrome. Guillain-Barre is a syndrome where the body’s immune system begins to attack itself, namely the nervous system. It can cause weakness, tingling and even paralysis. While most people recover, some have lasting weakness. This scares me. No one knows why some people get this and others don’t.

Then there is the new swine flu vaccine. People are saying it was rushed through and we haven’t done adequate testing to determine its safety. When it comes out, should we get that one too? Get both at once? Spread out the vaccines and get the regular flu shot now and the swine later? Don’t get any shots because what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger? Jeeezzz………..

So what do you think? Are you going to get either shot, neither or both? Have you had a reaction in the past to the regular flu shot? Do you care that there is mercury in the shots? Tell us what you think.

    Dear Irene,

I would never ever take the flu shot, just go to mercola.com or naturalnews.com and you'll see why. There are so many simple ways to stay healthy and keep your immune system strong. One of the most simple, free and most importantly EFFECTIVE things you can do is tap your thymus about 10 times gently with your fingertips every day (located right in the centre of your chest where sternum is) remember to do it throughout the day, especially if you feel run down. And get vitamin D!!

    Hi Irene,

I will be getting both flu shots, if the swine flu shot is available. I usually get a flu shot every year because I am in a work environment every day and things just seem to get passed around. You can get a viral infection and not have time to get over it completely and then get hit with something else. I have had years where my body seems to be picking up something all winter and winters where I just sail through with a mild cold virus.

My immune system is good but I have some chronic disturbances that can cause havoc if not taken into account when deciding whether to protect myself or not with getting a flu shot.

Usually kids have strong immune systems and their immune systems deal with the flu quite well and I think if people are young and in good health then getting a flu should not hurt as much as strengthen their immune systems.

When I was 12 there was no such thing as getting a flu shot and even when my kids were 12 there was no such thing as getting a flu shots and that was in the late eighties, now they want kids to get them and I am not sure it is a good ideal. I started getting flu shots at work and I was about 40 years of age, before that I never got a flu shot. I just got sick and didn't get antibiotics either unless I was not getting better and that was rare.

I just get the shot, have had no reaction and really did not pay much attention to the fact that there is mecury in it since I have old fillings with mercury in my teeth anyway, but my motto is that one should do what one is comfortable with when making these decision….good luck…rann

I just got a flu vaccination and my kids as well. At first there are some side effects but I guess it is more worth it. Of course there are still doubts in our health but as what our doctors say,

I plan to get a flu shot, and I also hope to get the swine flu vaccine when it comes out. I want to stay healthy and, with a full-time job and graduate school keeping me busy, I can't afford to miss a week or so struggling with the flu.

    Thank you so much Irene,

For raising this subject. We have living among us people who tell the truth to help us and people who lie to destroy our health and our lives for profit. If we do not know the difference and seldom hear the truth tellers, the liars win and get filthy rich in the process. You cannot trust your doctor to be a truth teller because s/he is often just as much in the dark as we are, in spite of training and education. Nor can you trust any government, which everyone should know by now. I have been studying this matter for months because I am retired and have the time to do so. Last night I found a doctor telling the truth that no one else even knows. It is a long article, full of life and health saving information. I want to share it with my friends, family and anyone who reads and wants to be well informed.

P.T. Barnum called us suckers. Today we are called consumers. Set it before us and we will consume it. Disinformation, poison, obedience training, mindless news and entertainment, political smoke screens, government black flag operations, unnecessary surgeries. You name it, we'll buy it. Let us try and stomach this: A 10 minute video demonstrating how the same people create disease and then sell us the antidote with government assistance. Sucker!

Great video, thanks for sharing Ed. I can't believe US citizens may be "forced" to take it. Let's hope the rest of us don't follow like sheep. What about freedom of choice? I would absolutely refuse, no question about it. The media machine has done a "great" job on misleading people of the "dangers" of swine flu (or other flu types). There's a great detailed and researched link here http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archiv

    Love and Blessings X 1000
