Freedom

I find it interesting that one small occurence in a person’s life can sometimes have a profound effect on the rest of their life, on their actions, on their thoughts.

That something tiny and seemingly insignificant can set you free, within yourself.

It’s an incredible thing, to feel free, and not something that everyone experiences within their lifetime.
It is a state of mind, rather than a physical thing. It is a feeling of relief, of a weight being lifted. It’s light as a feather…
It is a feeling that you can do anything you want. Be anyone you want, and the whole world is laid out in front of you, purely for your pleasure.

What to do first?

Do what it is you want to do.

Do what it is you want to do.

Do what it is you want to do.

Go out and experience the things you have always wanted to try. You may love, laugh or cry, but the knowledge that you have taken a chance on your life – that alone is worth any risk.

Be free and fly.

About MissFlossy

I'm a strong, passionate, contrary and changeable woman. I love my friends fiercely, and my family even more so. I have learned that a charmed life is intentional, not accidental. I believe in fate and fairytales, but I control my destiny. I immerse myself in the positive and I create my best life. 'We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? But actually, who are you NOT to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.'

Freedom. . .

“The more fun you have, the more detached you can be from the circumstances of your life. You can cease to be obsessed by money, by how you look, by how you compare with other people, by your need for approval. You can still have fun in the midst of it all.” ~ JR w/Paul Kaye

A friend and I were talking the other day about the irrelevancy of worrying about other people liking or loving you. I realized I used to do that a lot, and sometimes still fall into that pattern. When I am concerned about how I measure up to other people’s standards, I find I am far less comfortable with myself, less confident, less centered, less free– and ultimately I have far less fun.

Whether other people like me, love me or respect me is never in my hands. It is in their hands. I am lucky in that I was blessed with a personality that most people enjoy– and I use that to do as much good as I can. But, paradoxically, when I care most about someone liking or loving me– it seems to work less well. I think that is because I give up a part of myself to the other person when I try too hard to earn their good graces. I become less of

Virginia grew up in central PA and spent a lot of time watching the grass grow and reading voraciously.  As a child and adolescent she dreamed of becoming a doctor or a writer.  However, life took Virginia in a different direction and after spending her early twenties immersed in Art, Poetry/Creative Writing and the Rock scene around New Jersey, she moved to Colorado and fell into a career in Alternative Healing/ Energy Work, and Counseling.  She got her MA in the Psychology of Women from Regis University in Denver, CO, and her MT in Theology from PTS in CA.  She became a successful personal counselor, professional coach and business consultant for 20 years.  Then a consulting position led her to assist in the start-up of a small real estate and mortgage company in 1995.  She liked the business so much she got trained and credentialed in those industries and has worked happily in them ever since . . . though after raising four smart, beautiful daughters, Virginia made her way back into coaching and consulting.  She also writes, travels, dances, paints, surfs a bit  and is learning to play the guitar.  So many adventures to participate in!

Freedom

I have learnt to make my personal relationships work better by reducing expectations, greater appreciation and more space through an attitude of live and let live. I realised that unknowingly one starts shadow living another person’s life and no matter how clsoe you are that doesn’t work well. It is not a good feeling to be owned or own someone’s freedom.

Freedom

I had an amazing event happen the other day.  I can’t get into details but suffice to say if things go as I’d like I will have a lot of freedom in my business future, to do what I am most passionate about, and accelerate the vision I have.

The beautiful thing about all this is that I’ve been focusing very clearly on creating financial freedom in the past.  I’ve been very deliberate in not getting specific in treatment.  When I’m in a position to share I am confident that you’ll be wowed as I am, and see what I mean.

What was doubly intriguing though was that over the past week I’ve been reading about Freedom in class and meditating on the ideas of calmness, awareness, and grace.  After yesterday’s meeting and the ensuing moment of excitement I felt myself suddenly feel very calm.  In my mind I heard the line, "…wonders never cease."  I realized that that could be the new greeting to replace "I’m divine."  I also realized that whilst it is sweet to find the light in darkness, that it’s also very sweet to recognize grace during the moments of sweet success.

And then I got back to thinking about freedom and how closely it’s connected to Unity.

Freedom

The search of the human mind,

is to be freed of objective chains,

shatter links of lack, want and poverty,

the fear of hereafter and pain.

We want to feel there’s good,

in the world in which we partake,

to soothe split of being from self,

to integrate but not forsake.

And yet in our quest for freedom,

we may swap one image for another.

Condemnation toward others,

strands ego that’s left to recover.

For the mind to know true liberty,

without the self imposing will,

is as rare as actualization,

upon thinking of highest skill.

If Infinity cannot be divided,

upon itself, indivisbly,

then we must rediscover the axiom,

that with freedom walks Unity.

About Carmien

While I feel drawn to express a little of my experience with you there is nothing that I could write that could possibly capture the moments themselves. Like the difference between the physical world and the spiritual one, my words are but a shadow, a pale reflected projection. But, I shall recklessly stand in my desire to fan your fire anyway, and share with you some of my fire.

I am a Philospher-Poet. Poetry and a quest for wisdom writes words through me. And should you see something in these words that uplifts or inspires you, then know that all that you see you can see because it is inside you already.
I blog at http://carmien.com/.  I would love to connect with those of like mind and those who recognize that there is something within but that are looking for ways to connect to the mysteries of life.

About Khamisa

Firstly, I have to thank my friend, Shasheen...he told me to get out there; and, to "Just do it!"

Thank you, Shasheen.  Thank you, for giving me the courage to be vunerable and open.  Thank you, for your wisdom and for turning me on to the Community at large.  Thank you, for connecting with me.

Well, I'm Kelly.  I'm a single mom of three: David, Michael, and Samuel.  I count it both a blessing and a privilege to be their mom.   I'm a former teacher of Spanish, an Exceptional Student Education Support Facilitator, and an ESE teacher.  I've a B.A in Psychology, from Florida International University; and, I love learning other languages...I'm currently studying Madarin.

Also, my sons and I are survivors of domestic abuse.

It'll be four years, this fall, since our deliverance.  Not a day goes by, that I don't thank the Divine Source, for my family's freedom and peace of mind.

I'm now very thankful for Intent.com, the Chopra Family, and the Community (i.e., all of you).  It is my intent, to reach out to you all.  Daily, I look forward to reading your intents.  The unity this site generates, is awsome.

At this present time, the boys and I are set to embark on a new adventure.  I'm moving the family back to my home state of Arizona.  There, I'll be studying naturopathic and Oriental medicine.  We're all excited about the move...which, should be some time in the summer.  As it is with many across the nation, we too have experienced our share of financial woe...it was just a few months ago, that we were homeless.  I'm very thankful, to have overcome...we now live in a nice little apartment.  The boys are in a good school, and we've been blessed with a lot of support from our neighbors.  I've been without a job now, for nine months.  I believe, that this too, will soon change.  I'm in the process of attaining my CNA license for both the states of Florida and Arizona.  Yes, God, the Universe, or whomever you worship...is good...very good indeed.

I'm here to be an encouragement to others.  My mission (thank you, Shasheen), is to be a source of inspiration for other women.  My goal is to one day, establish my own wellness center for women and children.  This will be an all inclusive center of healing and wellness.  My center will provide counseling, a variety of naturopathic and Oriental healing techniques, shelter, childcare, and activities and education all geared toward the empowering of women and their families.  That is my vision.

Well, that's about it.  I love and support you all.  Peace.

Hey y'all!  Check out my website.  It's brand new, inspirational, and informative!

Freedom

Near Russell, Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Freedom does not come from being financially independent. Plenty of people who are wealthy do not feel free. Sometimes, people who have nothing or are in prison are free. Living in a democracy does not necessarily make us free.

Freedom does not depend on external circumstances. Freedom comes from within.

Donald Trump has all the material possessions a person could want. He lives in the United States, one of the freest countries in the world. However, he is not free. He puts his name on his properties and has a constant need to show off because he does not feel free inside. If he did not feel inadequate and unworthy, he would have no need to prove that he was better than everyone else because he has more things than they do. If you have something to prove, you are trying to prove to yourself that your life has value.

Mahatma Gandhi gave away his possessions and lived an extremely simple life. He was free. Jesus was imprisoned and ultimately tortured and killed. He was free.

The bars of our prison do not come from outside ourselves. The bars of our prison are made from compulsive thinking. We are stuck remembering the past and imagining the future. Our thoughts are the product of relentless programming from the moment we were born to the present moment. We are a prisoner of our thoughts.

We can dissolve the bars of compulsive thinking by bringing our attention to them. By bringing the light of awareness (i.e., attention without judgment) to the present, our thoughts fade into the background and eventually disappear.

Let’s choose freedom.
