The Gift of Hope

My husband came home last week and told me he thought we needed to get out of the house on a short vacation.  I have been incarcerated since I was hit by the car six  weeks ago. With my current disabilities it is impossible to go far.  Jim surprised me with plans for a trip to an Inn on the Atlantic Ocean.  Everything changed in the moment he told me of the vacation plans.  He planted the seeds of hope in that moment.  Just knowing we are going somewhere has created pure joy.  Some of the advice I give people is to create a folder and write your plan or dreams down so they become real and you create hope.  Now I really know how true my advice is.  Each day I open the vacation folder and when I see the Inn reservations, the map and the Fodor’s guide, I smile from ear to ear. Hope creates health, happiness and beautiful optimism.
