Glitches on Intent and ideas on how to fix them

Hey everyone,

Razz’s blog today inspired me so I am posting this blog so maybe we can get an open forum going to see how we can help Intent fix some of its glitches.

One thing I want to mention and see if anyone has any ideas or comments is that do you notice that when you comment on a blog, you have to go and find that blog again in order to check and see if anyone replied to your comment?  I don’t want to be rude and not respond to someone who has directly posted a comment on what I’ve said.  Now if it is my personal blog, I get an email alert, but if it is someone else’s I am not alerted and have to try to find it again.  This is hard to do as I comment on quite a few blogs.

I have written responses to blogs only to lose them or lose the connection to the website altogether.  Sheesh I get frustrated because here I spent all this time writing a thoughtful comment, and then POOF it is gone!!  I have learned to copy it so that when it gets lost, I can push the post a comment button again and paste it in.  I learned this the hard way after I lost quite a few originals, which took a lot of time to write the first time and then to have to write them all over sort of sucks.  I’ve gotten a few emails from friends stating they wrote these long blog responses to me only to have them disappear.

How can we get Intent.com to have a faster connection?  I go and read entire news stories waiting for the website to open or go where I have directed it.  I even open up new windows on my computer to try to get through to Intent.com more quickly.  Is this extremely slow or just me?  I am an Indigo and have that effect on electronics, especially computers so it could just be me.

I mean as much entertainment as I got out of Razz’s post today because she took up one full page and then some with her posting today due to her not thinking it was sending so she kept pushing send over and over so that when it finally sent her blog post, it sent it like 10 times.  I laughed hard at that because I can see where that can easily happen because you don’t think it is going where you directed it cuz it takes so damn long…lol.

Anybody else having issues?  Any solutions?

Namaste,

Krissy

About Krissy

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them; disagree with them; glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."----AMEN!!!! Here's to us Indigos :) I must say I am EXCITED to be here among all the beautiful souls that share on this incredible website. A little about me...I was an Atheist until I gave birth to my older son, Lukas, 9.5 years ago. The moment I looked into his innocent eyes, I realized there was a God. The paradigm shift was immediate and irreversible. Since then, I've been on a journey and woke up spiritually. I've come to realize I am here to remember. Remember who I am, and what I came to this dimension to do. I am here to help expand the consciousness of the planet and heal the suffering therein. I'm still figuring out my exact role, and feel drawn to serving humanity RIGHT NOW. I'm passionate about my mission (well and EVERYTHING really...lol), and am enjoying my own becoming--becoming who I came here to be. All this while I share my life with, and mostly learn from, the two little oxygen tanks who chose to assist me on my journey. Lukas and Joshua are my little pieces of perfection who when they say mom, no matter the tone, my insides smile that smile only a parent knows. My boys are light's creation, and have the power to bring tears to my eyes with their breath even when they are testing me. And I wasn't having kids...lol, thank GOD someone somewhere saw the idiocy in my thought process and vetoed my original decision (God is so smart) and I became pregnant :) Okay okay I could go on and on and on and on.... I am honored to be part of this site, and be able to interact with all of you who are sharing, caring, projecting peace, and are willing to share with me and be my friend. Namaste, Krissy

Yep, you definitely have a point about the missing link when you post comments to blogs. I am the same, I leave comments and then days later when I have time to check out Intent again I have lost the blog. It does feel rude and a almost like a little piece of me is out there on my own leaving half a conversation!

    Thanks for bringing it up.

Well I'm new—-so I'm not all that savvy as to what is taking place and I figured the screw ups made when I attempted to post was ME….Hehe. AND it very well could be but , I don't know how to correct it as I post the same thing several times on one page or the paragraphs run together. So any suggestions out there would be appreciated.

And yes I agree it'd be great to be notified if there was a response to your response otherwise you'll have to remember to check and considering I forget a lot that might not be that easy for me…….Haaa~!

Thanks for the comments. We have a long list of things to work on, and only one engineer to work on them! But I agree on the comments point completely, and we will try to address this sooner rather than later. Also, on the speed issue, we know about it and are taking steps to enhance it.

    Thank you

    Hi Krissy,

Excellent post. I have been thinking the same thing about the comments I make on other people's blogs, wishing I could be notified if someone comments on my comment.

The thing I've noticed though is that a person who comments on a blog has the option of "add a comment" or "reply to this comment". And I think that sometimes the blogger may wait until he or she thinks all comments on his/her blog have been posted, then he/she posts one huge comment in response to all of his/her commenters. In that case, how would each commenter be notified that the blogger has responded to each of their comments? I hope intent can find a way.

    Thanks for your post!

    Hi Mallika,

What would you suggest when adding a comment? Is it best to "add a comment" or "reply to this comment"? I mean sometimes my comment refers to something the blogger has said as well as things that other commenters have said.

And is there a way that everyone who has commented on a blog can be notified when a new comment is added?

I hope you get this comment!!

    Thanks very much,

    Sharon

    Krissy:

I am almost afraid to say this, but my company does Web 2.0 programming just like what is behind this site. It is an absolute bear, because behind the scenes there are large databases and lots of code to make it all happen everytime we push a button.

Under the word Intent on the top of the page I saw the word "beta". In my work world that means the software is still being tested for bugs, crashes, errors, inconsistencies, and any other problems.

Now it could mean something entirely different here, but it explains some of the kinks they are working through.

I agree. Friends are joined through friend requests to topics. So if you or a friend originate a topic, you get notification. Unfortunately, if you aren't the originator of the topic, there's no email.

I think that if you comment on a specific topic, you should then be joined to it for email. The threads are dead-ending too quickly the way the records are currently related. I think it would be far more conversational if it was done this way. Technically, a topic could go on forever–as they do commonly in forums–if you had permanent email notifications. Then opt-out of the particular topic' as a choice if you tire of it or if it doesn't feel right to partake any longer.

But Mallika and friends are pretty creative and innovative. They'll get the kinks worked out.

To search our comments on blogs:

We have search content function at the top of intent.com page. Type in your name and search for content.

You will be able to find all the places where you have commented.

    Thanks
