When my grandchildren ask me about the scary ghosts they might run into on Halloween, I tell them " There are no ghosts, those are just the spirits in their Halloween costumes." And my grandkids laugh.
As a psychic medium, my feeling about so-called "ghosts" is quite different than the average person. Because I do readings all the time and communicate with those who have passed on, I have had proof that our consciousness survives when the physical body is no longer needed. And I do not in any way feel that I am communicating with the Hollywood version of ghosts. I feel that the Creator is granting me the privilege of blending my spirit with the spirits of those who have passed on in order to get messages of love for my clients.
I am not on a "spiritual telephone" but instead get the information about those who have passed on through a kind of telepathy. Somehow those in spirit are able to show me visions of what they used to look like and share memories with me of their lives.
Blending with those is spirit is extremely sacred work. Many cultures such as the Native Americans and the Native Hawaiians, take it for granted that they can communicate with their loved ones who have passed on. There is nothing scary about the fact that everyone feels the spirit of grandma on her birthday.
Halloween gives most people a chance to laugh and carry on about ghosts, tell ghost stories and the like. For me it is a sacred day: a day to remember that spirits are not scary at all. Perhaps they like to dress up and scare us once in a while because we like that sort of thing.
