The Healing Playlist – Music That Should Be Shared

The sky is blue today. It hasn’t been for a while. And for the first time in a while, I have the chance to breathe between classes and spend time for myself in the hour alloted. Ah, to breathe.

The birth of music is such a mysterious idea. Sound, I assume, has always been in our lives as long as sound waves existed, or perhaps as long as matter existed for sound waves to bounce off. Yet, who and when was it decided that when certain sounds are combined and presented together, it could emit waves that are pleasing to us? Orchestras, instruments, harmonies, and choirs. But not every sound is pleasing to everyone. I have a difficult time with country music, as well as most techno, and on occasion the bagpipe here and there.

So I don’t expect all of these songs to be pleasing for everyone, or have the same healing qualities that it has for me. But I think music is meant to be shared, and it is the duty of the person who discovers new music to share it with those around them.

I’ll call it the "healing" playlist for lack of a better title, but I believe that adding these songs or these artists to your music player wouldn’t be  such a bad idea…
