Healthy, Quick-Fix Afternoon Snack Attack Solution

Making New Year new you healthy changes doesn’t have to mean revamping your entire lifestyle. Instead of reaching for a candy bar and cup of coffee in the afternoon to power you thru the rest of your workday—try my quick & healthy snack attack solution.

One of my favorite afternoon high protein, low calorie, and high fiber snacks is to have either a medium apple or jicama sticks with a one ounce piece of low-fat cheese. To drink have a cup of green tea or stick with your coffee, but maybe substitute 2% milk for cream. It’s a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

?1 medium apple of ¾ cups of jicama sticks, cut in ½ inch sticks?1 ounce of your favorite 2% low-fat cheese (I like sharp cheddar)

Apple & Cheese: Serving size: 1 medium size apple and 1 ounce cheese. Nutrition content: 150 Calories, 6g fat, 7g protein, 23g carbohydrates, 5g fiber, 230mg sodium.?

Jicama Sticks and Cheese: Serving size: 1. Nutrition content: 105 Calories, 6g fat, 8g protein, 8g carbohydrates, 6g fiber, 235mg sodium.
