When shopping for a compact florescent bulbs (CFL’s), the following is considered the standard equivalent for incandescent versus CFL. However, I have found this comparison to be a little off—that CFL’s tend to cast less light than their incandescent equivalents. However, because a watt is a watt, if your lamp indicates a maximum of one hundred watts, and a twenty watt bulb CFL isn’t bright enough, you can safely use a twenty-three CFL watt bulb.
Incandescent CFL
60 watts 11 watts
75 watts 18 watts
100 watts 20 watts
150 watts 23 watts
Natural-spectrum bulbs are another great choice, and they mimic natural sunlight and last thirty-five hundred hours. As the name implies, the light cast imitates the full-spectrum—or natural daylight—and so makes colors appear bright and true.

Norma:
Thanks for the detail. I'd wanted to convert but hadn't. You've answered all the questions.
Any comment on mercury? I heard that was an issue.
Mercury is found in CFL's in small amounts, so safely dispose of your bulbs at places like Home Depot.
Hi Norma,
I don't know if this is too technical a question. It may just be an insoluble mystery, but I replaced the six incandescent ceiling flood lights in my kitchen with CFL flood lights and when I turn them off they flicker dimly for another ten to (sometimes) fifteen minutes.
Any idea why?
All the best,
Rafi Schutzer
Sorry, I have no idea. Let me know if you resolve the problem.
Has anyone heard about these CFL's that are also negative ion generators? They are supposed to remove cigarette smoke indoors, dust, mites, & animal dander out of the air. It sounds like they've combined febreze with a CFL, seems cool. The video seemed to show it works….I don't know though? What do you guys think?
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry. Be glad when water pours out of your danze faucet each time you turn it on.
I always appreciate the people for their efforts towards the eco-friendliness & glad to see the one @ SUPERIOR LIGHTING, playing yet an important role by launching their energy efficient LEDs & soothing light bulbs.
