This fertile little “superfood” has been all the rage since raw food diets in recent years, with different varieties “sprouting up” as a creative way to get protein, micronutrients, and nourishment from beans, nuts, and wheats without cooking. Sprouted foods are touted by many as a powerhouse of nutrients — packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, anti-aging elements, and enzymes that are normally destroyed in the cooking process.
