How Will You Reduce the Consumption of ‘Stuff’ over the Holidays?

How much STUFF will you accumulate over the Holidays?  This can be the things you buy as presents, the wrapping paper and bows, cards sent and received and the food we make, goodies we bake – stop for a moment and think about how much MORE STUFF is generate this time of year.

Then take a moment and consider how you can reduce your consumption – what can your reuse or recycle?

Here are a few informative items to help you see how much we all contribute.  Watch/read them and then find at least ONE way to reduce your consumption or waste.  I would love to hear your idea!

What is the Story of Stuff?

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

Several years ago, after completing the Master Gardener program in Arizona, she realized just how simple it was to do little things to tread more lightly on this great earth. She enjoys showing people how to create sustainable environments that use water and other resources wisely. Doreen continues to learn as she teaches. If she is not teaching a class she is taking one!
