I Love My Acupuncturist: Receiving Emotional Support From Alternative Healers

I love my acupuncturist

About 2 years ago I decided I wanted to have a baby. It has been a long road.  At the beginning of my journey I went to see fertility specialists and was surprised that the medical profession was not very optimistic about me getting pregnant since I was over 40.  I felt very disheartened.

I looked for support in alternative medicine and I found that most every woman I spoke to who had had success was raving about her acupuncturist. It seemed like each woman insisted her acupuncturist was the reason she was now or had eventually gotten pregnant.

I had tried acupuncture before for a knee injury and back pain and in both instances it seemed to be what help to promote accelerated healing.

When so many women were raving about acupuncture I decided it was something worth investing in to support my journey to motherhood.

Every acupuncturist I went to was supportive, loving, nurturing, optimistic and caring.  Going through the process of IVF is an emotional roller coaster and the more, love, compassion and support women can get in this time the better.  I am now in the middle of a cycle waiting to find out if I am pregnant.  No matter what the outcome is of this cycle, I am so happy to have my acupuncturist and those that have supported me in the past, providing that extra element of love, compassion, nurturing and healing that I was not getting from the medical doctors I had been seeing.

I now feel I have the winning team.  Dr. Joel Batzofin and Erin Hessel and they work together which makes it even more supportive and loving.  No matter what the outcome is of this cycle, I feel like adding acupuncture has helped to make this time a more relaxing, empowering and comforting situation.

What I love the most about alternative medicine is that they look for ways to encourage the body to do the healing and most alternative practitioners believe that when the body is in balance it knows best what to do.   Therefore, there are no side effects or downsides to seeking support from alternative medicines and most often I think they can help.

If you are interested in finding out more about acupuncture or other alternative medicines ask around.  It is becoming more and more common for people to go and see an acupuncturist for many things.  I am sure you will find some of your friends or family members will have some recommendations for you.

If you are in NYC check out Erin Hessel at The Berkley Center for acupuncture or Dr. Joel Batzofin fertility Center of you are looking for a supportive, loving fertility specialist.
