Like every other child, growing up I was convinced that I was special and meant for great things. I used to pray to god every single day asking for magical powers. I promised that I wouldn’t use them for personal gain but I just wanted to be magical. Eventually I made peace with the fact that I won’t be like the X-men, Samantha from Bewitched, Jeanie or the Charmed ones and will have to make it through as plain old human.
But if you could have any magical power what would it be? Teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis, invisibilty, super speed etc etc?
I would have love to have the power of teleportation. Can you imagine never having to take a plane. I travel the whole world, visit a new place every weekend. I would never have to sit in Los Angeles traffic or even need a car. There would be no global warming or an energy crisis….so many problems can be solved.
I’ll stop now before I get more carried away. But if you could have a magical power what would it be?

When I was a kid there was a show called E.V. (i think) in which this teenage girl would put her two index fingers together and time would stop. everything would stop for her to do what she needed to do… So as long as you're handing out superpowers I'll take the "ability to stop time'

Kelly that one can be fun too and u know one of the Charmed ones on Charmed had that right? But I think she could only freeze for a while…perhaps like 5 mins or so but of course when time started again she could just freeze it again if she needed more time…
I guess that crazy film with adam sandler who had the remote control…click he had that power too and much much more of course….all the powers of a remote on your life! …so dumb…!
If I could have a magical power it would be the ability to avoid bad/evil/negative people….wait I do magical powers! I have love! and if I do encounter the badside….well I guess I can influence it with the positive side or avoid it. If I somehow get involved with someone who turns out to be the bad kind….well I'm sure there was a lesson in there.
Perhaps the power to heal people, whether physical or psychological diseases.

I enjoy the super powers I have now.
Multitasking the breadmachine,washer,dryer while I use a computer at 11:00PM and enjoy a warm cat on my lap. Meeting people around the world and sleeping in my own bed. Reading cutting science,great poetry,watching musicals then enjoying doing my painting,writing or cooking to comments from my son he didn't know I could do that.
So much is amazing yet taken for granted.

very intersting! the first two things that came to my minde before reading the comments are the two most common as for now.
Heal people, and teletransportation, on the healing I would love to have an positive effect on people, not as the magic of curing wounds or illnes immediately but in the shape of touching peoples souls and helping them star the healing from the inside, oh wait, so, Deepak has that magic power!!. And the teletransportation thing its because of 2 things, one because I love to travel or see new places, and two because sometimes not living in my hometown where a lot of family is well sometimes I need to be there fast, and cant do that!….

I would love to have the power to absorb all the other powers! Like the guy on Heroes- he just gets near someone else, and he has the power.
Actually, I can read minds, see auras, change time, heal myself and assist in healing others, manifest anything really, so what else is there?

You know it occurred to me the other day that that's what we mean when we say "Spiritual": Magic. All the Gods have magical powers. Most organized religions believe that after one dies they go to a magical paradise of a place where all dreams come true. Did you know that the original translation of the word "prayer" during primitive times meant "Make Magic Happen."
But to answer your question, mine is the same as many others here: teleportation, time travel, a kind of immortality where you are always 35 or so. But why do we all have these wishes? Since the beginning of time they are the source of Myths, Religions, Fairy Tales, Art. They must symbolize something that is immanent as opposed to merely mysterious. Magic is definitely maybe THE archetype of the unconscious. Someone from 150 years ago who saw a computer of a TV or an airplane would definitely think they were experiencing Magic. But the Ego is never satisfied.
