Intent of the Day: Expect Abundance

The key to abundance is meeting limited circumstances with unlimited thoughts.
-Marianne Williamson

When was the last time you felt like you had enough? Or were enough? We live in a world chock full of marketing and around every turn we can be reminded that we are not and do not have enough. We’re running behind on time, on energy, on keeping up with trends and the Joneses. The slope is slippery and the stress and anxiety associated with falling behind can be very real.

We intend to expect abundance.

You too? Here are 3 things to help you expect abundance in your own life:

  1. Decide what is enough
If you’re going to commit to a mindset of abundance, you first need to evaluate what is enough. When there is no baseline, it’s easy to feel like you’re always falling behind, even if this isn’t really the case. What makes you feel loved? What makes you feel safe and secure? Take time to think about and record what “enough” looks like as a way to combat the nagging feeling that you have nothing.
  2. Consider the good
We may never understand the human inclination to let negative circumstances seem more real or weigh heavier than the good, but they can taint our view of ourselves and our lives. In the midst of a moment, take time to consider whether or not the bad actually outweighs the good. Today you got a parking ticket and that stinks, but when was the last time you got a parking ticket? Before you resign yourself to the idea that everything sucks and nothing good happens for you, put the metaphorical (or real) parking ticket in perspective. Don’t let all the good go unnoticed.
  3. Commit to no more blame
When we start blaming, we forget to remain in action. We can absolve ourselves of problem solving because we’re busy problem blaming. If moving forward and expecting abundance is going to be real in your life, it’s going to involve stopping the blame game so that you can begin moving. Maybe there are people who were born with more resources than you. Perhaps someone is giving you an unfair disadvantage. All those things could be real and entirely justifying your upset, but the question remains- what are you going to do today in spite of those things? Instead of remaining in the muck, move. Stop blaming and get going in the direction where you can receive abundance.
