“Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.”
–Margaret Shepard

Hi Kathryn. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. You speak a lot in your classes about this phrase, “Aim True.” What does aiming true mean to you?

When I make my aim true it means I’m setting my intention everyday so I’m following what inspires me and makes my heart beat. When I do this, I always hit my mark.

What was your intent in creating the Aim True video with GaiamTV? What did you hope people would walk away with?

I was hoping to blend my style of teaching — empowering people through making challenging poses accessible with my life mantra, ‘aim true’. Aim true is similar to my style of teaching—I wanted to encourage people to choose love over fear and feel empowered to live the life that makes them feel passionate and full of potential.

If you had a stadium full of a million people and could only teach one thing, what would you teach?

I would teach them that choosing love is ALWAYS the right answer, in any situation. And that to get where we have to go through fear, not by tip-toeing around it. I’d pair that with crow pose to show people they can get back their pre-conceived notions of abilities, so that they’re ready to soar both on the mat and in their life.
