Dear Friends,
Greetings
Love your actions
Our daily life is filled with many actions. All the actions we perform are to be happy or to avoid pain. Sometimes our actions are based on fear. Sometimes our actions based on survival instincts. Sometimes our actions are based on obligations. Sometimes our actions are based on getting mundane pleasure.
When our actions are driven from the place of fear or obligations or survival, the quality of the actions suffer and so does the results. Though all the actions are undertaken to fulfill our desires, we don’t necessarily enjoy all the actions we perform and when the results don’t meet our expectations we wonder why and suffer. Many times we are not conscious of our actions too and not aware of what we are doing and why we are doing them.
Some of the common actions we perform everyday are speaking, doing our job at work (if employed), walking/moving, taking care of house hold activities and/or indulging in some hobbies etc… How can we use these actions to transform our life? You can take some time to reflect on if your actions are driven from the place of love. See if you are able to enjoy all the actions that you do.
If you are not able to enjoy your actions, see if you can drop doing those actions if they are not serving you any more. If you are not able to drop the action, then learn to enjoy them. Years ago when I came to US, I didn’t have an option but to cook my own food, clean dishes or do my laundry, while in India I didn’t have to do all of these myself. Later after learning about mindfulness practice, I started to use these actions for practicing mindfulness. Now I love doing these actions.
If your actions are coming from the place of love, the quality of your actions and results will be great. Fulfillment and satisfaction comes in giving your whole heart in the actions that you do. Enjoying your actions is only half of the battle; the other half of the battle is in the ability to receive the results of your actions. Will continue this message in the next post.
