Michael Jackson recites “Planet Earth”

Dear Friends,

On the 1 year anniversary of Michael’s death I would like to share with you a poem I co-wrote with him entitled “Planet Earth” which was published in his book “Dancing the Dream.” This poem is particularly prescient given the  destruction of the eco-system.

Love,
Deepak

Planet Earth

Michael Jackson and Deepak Chopra
Originally published in “Dancing the Dream”

Planet Earth, my home, my place
A capricious anomaly in the sea of space
Planet Earth, are you just
Floating by, a cloud of dust
A minor globe about to bust
A piece of metal bound to rust
A speck of matter in a mindless void
A lonely spaceship, a large asteroid

Cold as a rock without a hue
Held together with a bit of glue
Something tells me this isn’t true
You are my sweetheart, soft and blue
Do you care, have you a part
In the deepest emotions of my own heart
Tender with breezes, caressing and whole
Alive with music, haunting my soul.

In my veins I’ve felt the mystery
Of corridors of time, books of history
Life songs of ages throbbing in my blood
Have danced the rhythm of the tide and flood
Your misty clouds, your electric storm

Were turbulent tempests in my own form
I’ve licked the salt, the bitter, the sweet
Of every encounter, of passion, of heat
Your riotous color, your fragrance, your taste
Have thrilled my senses beyond all haste
In your beauty I’ve known the how
Of timeless bliss, this moment of now.

Planet Earth, are you just
Floating by, a cloud of dust
A minor globe about to bust
A piece of metal bound to rust
A speck of matter in a mindless void
A lonely spaceship, a large asteroid

Cold as a rock without a hue
Held together with a bit of glue
Something tells me this isn’t true
You are my sweetheart, gentle and blue
Do you care, have you a part
In the deepest emotions of my own heart
Tender with breezes, caressing and whole
Alive with music, haunting my soul.

Planet Earth, gentle and blue
With all my heart, I love you.

    Working on the land

    With my bare hands

    Lets me feel

    Something so real

    In that moment of awareness

    I feel the ultimate oneness

Of my body touching the ground

    Of my being

    Totally unbound

    Totally belonging

    To this circumference

    Visible in the distance

    Embracing me all around

    And I clearly see

    How everything is Me

    Every movement in this bliss

    Is giving a little kiss

    To That what surrounds Me

    Is Me

    Inside……. Outside……….

    Becoming flat

    I realize…… a truth I always had……….

Thanks for the poem but really that's what is left of Michael…

Michael Jackson was revealed to have earned over $1 billion since his death, mainly due to the explosive growth of his record sales.

Taking place at the Planet Hollywood casino in Las Vegas, the auction contained a total of ten items relating to Michael Jackson. The glove fetched $190,000 a price well above estimates created by experts.

The loafers Michael Jackson wore onstage during the same tour were also sold, fetching much more than previous estimates. The shoes had been expected to fetch between $2,000 (£1,328) and $3,000 (£1,990), but went for $90,000 (£59,764), reports ABC News.

A jacket worn by Michael Jackson was sold at the same auction, fetching $120,000 – far beyond the initial estimate, which suggested it would fetch between $6,000 (£3,984) and $8,000 (£5,312).

    This is crazy!
