Life has dealt some challenges lately. I guess it always does but it seems in the past few weeks I’ve had a harder time dealing with obstacles and difficulties. Shit happens, right? (whoever said that?) We can’t always control the things that occur throughout our days but we can ALWAYS control our responses to them. Our responses have a tremendous influence on the outcome of each event in our lives.
I’ve mentioned many times in this Manifesto that yoga has been critical in helping me maneuver effectively throughout this transitional life period. In looking back through my journal over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that I’ve been doing less yoga and a lot less meditating than I was previously doing in the past year or so. I really think that yoga and meditation have become things that I need in my daily routine. When I am consistent with yoga I feel better both mentally and physically. I feel stronger in the mind and body and I can respond to life’s events appropriately and confidently.
So, I’m getting back on the yoga wagon with a total immersion and commitment to at least one daily practice for the next 30 days. My good friend Ryan did this about 6 weeks ago and has only missed one day of yoga practice since he started in early March. I created a calendar in the sidebar of the Manifesto that will show my daily practice.
I’ve found the online classes at Yoga Today to be excellent. They are flexible and provide just the instruction that I need without having to go to a studio.
Who’s with me for 30 days?!?

Interesting, there is 30 day challenge at Bikram Studio at my place. They promise that Bikram yoga will change life if someone has the inspiration and motivation to come 30 days continuously.
