Nameless Journey

I drive on a winding serpent,
let me turn to the left,
                                                                                 oh there he slithers..

                                                                                   forcing me to right.

                                                                                Inhale.

                                                                                                      Exhale.

                                                                               Breathe.

                                                                                                         Stand.

I dance on a winding serpent,
my hands reach for the sky,
oh there he whips his tail..

                                                                                  leaving me crawling.

For the last few months I’ve been thinking about the word ‘journey’ often. This piece was written when I felt frustrated, you know the feeling when you think the universe is just moving you in a different direction to what you had in mind and you can barely stand as you’re so exhausted.

I love the imagery you have created with these words. It is a road I know well. It can be so exhausting and frightening to be taken in directions we don't expect to travel, and yet… we always end up right where we belong.
