Our Breath is the Key to Health

Our Breath is the true Key for better health on all levels of our being…..physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional.  We know that there are two basic needs to maintain life.  These are water and air. What do these two things have in common. Water and air(oxygen) are, in a way, the same thing only in a different energy catagory. The air we breath contains oxygen..and the water that we drink  also contains oxygen.  When we breathe in air we basically are breathing in water in a different form, a form that we have evolved into receiving as gaseous state instead of liquid state, like a fish.  We are sort of like fish. They swim around in water/oxygen, they are surrounded by it. Whether it is the ocean or a  small aquarium,  their source of water/oxygen is outside of them, and they take it into themselves in a liquid form. We also live in an aquarium of sorts, but   some of the the water/oxygen in our aquarium is in a gaseous state. We, our bodies, are also mostly water.  We are sort of like fish, but we carry our aquariums around on the inside of us instead of the outside of us.  This is what makes us such a mobile creation. A fish needs to stay where his water/oxygen supply is.  We can go where we want to because we carry our water/oxygen supply within us.

The problem is, we humans often are not aware just how much water and air we need on a daily basis to maintain healthy lives.  If you have ever had an asthma attack,  you know just how necessary is air(oxygen). During our daily routines, we do not get enough water and we do not get enough oxygen.  Our lives are regulated by stress. Stress causes us to hold our breath. when we don’t get enough air, we do not think clearly, so as to discover a solution for our stressful situation.  We do not drink enough water, so the toxins that build up in our bodies are not gently cleaned out on a continual basis.  Water, is not jsut for cleansing us. Water is actually a very necessary element in brain function…..well, for healthy body function.  Often our small aches and pains are caused because we are dehydrated and toxins have built up, or our muscles are starting to go stiff from lack of water to keep them supple.

Daily resting in a comfortable chair  or on the top of a bed, or cot, or mat on the floor……and breathing gently in and out is as much an exercise for our health as doing sit- ups. Even better. If a person were to relaxing deep breathing exercises BEFORE doing sit-ups, the sit-ups would be much easier to do.

Even more important, breath is very life itself.  When a person passes away, and we see their last exhalation, people often say " the life jjst went out of him." this is how important breath is…..breathing is. In the Bible, in Genesis, God breathed life into a handful of earthly chemicals, creating man.  I am not that familiar with all other religous "genesis" stories, but I would be sure that they would have somethiing to do with water and air. So, our very life(LIFE) is in our breath. We need to get more life into ourselves, so we can experience more life…in a healthy way.

Several times, I have healed myself of  chronic aches and pains by breathing in and out in a relaxed state. Also I also channeled my breath, through visualization, into the area of my body that is not feeling well.  I have visualized seeiing the nice clean pure air going directly in the affected are by imagining that the breath is a certain color, so I can track it. ( This is what they do in the hospital duriing certain x-ray tests. They inject the veins or organ with a color agent, then they track it under an x-ray machine.  Well, you can do this yourself in your imagination.  It is quite effective. )  Other times I imagine that my lungs are directly within the affected area. So I am actually breathing in and out of the part of my body that I want to heal.

MY BIG DOWNFALL….is that I forget that this simple system of oxygenating my body works!  For instance, one of my current healing projects is to heal my eyes, so I can get rid of my glasses.  I just recently remembered that perhaps I could oxygenate my eyes, and drink more water to flush out impurities from my body…and I could visualize  gently soaking my eyeballs in a solution that would soften them up and rejuvenate all the systems of my eyes so as to improve my focusing.  My Intent..is to be able to see and focus perfectly without the aid of my bifocals.

I will let you know how this works out for me, and what I actually did, what visulizations I used to make the healing occur. I will also let you know if I noticed myself drinking more water during the day as well.  My current re-interest in ridding myself of my glasses  has been aided by my recent reading of a book written back in the 1970′s,  The Miracle of Metaphysical Healing, by Evelyn M. Monahan.  She puts great emphasis on breathing and vizualisations, and she healed herself of blindness by usiing these techniques.

There are many written accounts of people healing themselves with breathing work and visualization.  So i am, as I said above, doing my daily breathing  exercises so as to rejuvenate my eyes. I’ll keep you posted.
