The Recession and the War in Iraq

Basically the world’s economic recovery depends on a bankrupt consumer nation, the United States of America, starting to spend money again. Money they never had or will have. But before you get all wound up and blame a seemingly honest US President for the 12 trillion dollar nation debt, let’s admit that Obama inherited the whole mess from that intellectual giant called GWB. Obama had to choose between a worldwide depression and trying to spend the US and the world out of a deep recession with borrowed money and corporate bailouts. http://www.usdebtclock.org/

 

Do some of us remember that Bush went to war because God told him to do so?

 

The Iraqi war has seriously weakened the U.S. economy, whose woes now go far beyond bad mortgage lending. You can’t spend $3 trillion — yes, $3 trillion — on a failed war abroad and not feel the pain at home. But the other statistic should be the one more of us remember: Over four thousand young Americans lost their lives in Iraq and another estimated twenty thousand lost limbs.

And why don’t we talk more about the estimated five hundred thousand Iraqis killed, many through “collateral damage”?

If only it were as simple as joining Dr Chopra in taking a vow of Non-Violence! It is easy to take that vow when living in surroundings of peace and prosperity, but what would happen if we had to watch our family members being raped and tortured?

    The door to a reason-based spirituality is wide open; it is called reality and truth. The word truth has a variety of meanings, from honesty, good faith, and sincerity in general, to agreement with fact, reason and reality (the scientific truth and its method).

    We should all live in the same space, the same reality. We should be very skeptical when someone is trying to sell us his own custom made consciousness and reality. Let
