A Reflection in Advent. What will you be giving God this Christmas

 A Reflection in Advent

The four-week period of advent is drawing to a close. Christmas day will soon be upon us.

In the middle of all the hustle and bustle of preparing the house, buying presents and preparing celebratory and ordinary meals I take time out to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas.

Jesus was born.

Why?

Jesus is a beacon.

Jesus draws us to himself and his ways.

More importantly Jesus is a signpost.

Jesus shows us the way to God.

In this period of advent I take time to reflect on what present I will give this Christmas to the one who is all.

What I will be giving to God.

What will that be?

I have not decided yet.

I still have a few days left to reflect on this.

What about you?

What will you be giving to God this Christmas?

Myself. That is the most and the best I could do because that is all God has given me, nothing more to give back. Do I even have the potential for more than that and even if I have, what all I give back is God's to begin with anyway.
