Remembering 9/11 with an intent for humanity’s home, our EARTH

As I woke up Pacific time 6 Am, today and listened to 9/11 remembrances on radio, I could not control thinking about how our lives have changed since that dreadful, dark  event eight years ago. The reality is we have lost some of the careless freedom that we took for granted prior to 9/11.  This dawned on me recently, once again, just a few days ago when I traveled with family to East coast and back. I recall the times prior to 9/11 when either my husband or I had to fly out of town from Charleston, SC to attend a conference elsewhere in the country, how the rest of us would walk up to the boarding gate, kiss and hug goodbye. I also remember how family and friends waited at the gate with flowers and gifts to greet returning friends. Strollers with babies and wheelchairs with elderly were wheeled up to the boarding gate to be kissed goodbye. Catching a flight was as carefree as catching a taxi. Gone are those innocent days.  I left the country in 1996 and lived in the Middle East till 2005 when I returned. Many changes were evident in this country on return. One change that I became cognizant was that of the new found spiritual awakening in people’s mind in this country like never before.  Is 9/11 responsible?

Spirituality in its essence is connecting the self with others and with the Universe as a whole. If you and I and the whole Universe are part of one energy, there is really no difference between you and I right? Each of us has our lifetime on this earth, a designated time to be part of and merge with this bigger energy field. Our contribution, although small compared to the bigger flow is as important as the bigger energy itself that controls all else. To be conscious and aware of the energy that we own, that we can control and disseminate during our lifetime is also the spirituality in action. Imagine the entire humanity being conscious of their energy!

One of the best ways to divert energy for good is to have positive intent. For me a positive intent is also a prayer. I had come across an ‘earth prayer’ in a magazine yesterday. One of the Intent that I instantly formed as I woke up listening to the radio this morning was how much we need to intent for our own humanity’s home, our EARTH! If we humans do not intent, who else will? Here it is. My intent or prayer today is for our Earth, to have its air clear, water pure, ground nurturing and that all living things on it exist in peace, harmony and balance.
