Dear Friends,
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article critical on some comments that I made on CNN and at the same time made some derogatory and personal attacks. Both I and my son, Gotham Chopra, responded and the Wall Street Journal has agreed to publish our responses this Friday. In the meanwhile, we are posting our responses in our entirety here and on the Huffington Post. Here is mine:
To the Editors,
I think it does a disservice to the Wall Street Journal’s integrity to run personal attacks of the kind directed against me by Dorothy Rabinowitz. Since your newspaper whole-heartedly cheered on the disastrous war in Iraq, I can understand why you continue to mount a rear guard action in defense of the Bush administration’s approach to militant Islam.
That approach involves unilateral militant aggression without the slightest care for the effect being made on the vast majority of peaceful Muslims. Now that the right wing can no longer continue this discredited policy overtly, Ms. Rabinowitz and her ilk have adopted a fall-back position. Attack anyone who suggests a new way.
I stand by my remarks and have full confidence that the Obama administration will adopt a "root cause" approach of the kind I endorsed. The very thing Ms. Rabinowitz derides is our best hope for peace.

Look for my son’s response on Huffington or here on Intent.com

Brilliant.
Beautiful… but you forgot to sign it "Love Deepak Chopra" (smile)
Hugs, Lily
Yep Dr. Chopra.
Gotham has your back sir!

Have no fear, speak the truth in LOve and people will listen.
We are entering the time where whole-of-system leadership is appearing, and Barak Obama has begun well. For too long each BANKER has calculated the risk to their own bank, but not the risk to the banking system as a whole: Each banker has lacked a whole-of-system outlook. Equally, each CEO has calculated the sustainable costs of running their own business, but not the unsustainable costs of over-running the whole environment. And each journalist can too easily stay fixed on 'us' and 'them' and miss the connections, and the root cause, as Deepak observed. Good riddance to the "if it bleeds, it leads" default position in journalism.
Each of us can "GET" the whole-of-system outlook
lacking in our leadership, and apply it in across our lives. Just think of an Elephant…
The snide and spiteful tone of the WLJ article was astounding. While I agree that you do not possess any special expertise in the politics of the Indian subcontinent, I also note that any human being is qualified to comment on a situation that would impel another human being to lay down their lives against every instinct programmed into us by Nature and that would impel that human being to deal out death so wantonly. It does not take a PhD in political science to see or state an intelligent opinion. You have hit the nail squarely on the head. What is the root cause of this situation? We need to address that if we can.
With respect, I think you are putting too much energy into this. In "The Third Jesus" Jesus' response would have been "Thank you Ma'am, may I please have another?". I haven't read the WSJ article as I don't waste my time with newspapers and all the violence, and one-sided reporting they contain. I read and commented on Gotham's post and believe you could have diffused this situation with a comment discrediting Rabinowitz by maybe laughing at her article and stating something of the nature "My my what the WSJ will do to sell papers. My comment was taken completely out of context, and this is what I meant", and then also you could have said you will not dignify her personal attacks as that is not something you prefer to participate in because you walk in peace, etc. I feel that by Gotham's response, you are fueling the fire, and playing right into their hands. Next thing you know you'll have Ann Coulter running off her mouth and do we (and I say 'we' because I am on your team) really need to be distracted by all of this insanity? It is a tactic to divert us from our goal, and so far it is working. Let's stay on course. When people's backs are up against a wall, they come out punching. We have the upper hand, and this is the only thing they know…discredit our leader. What would Obama do? What did he do when he was being attacked constantly by McCain? He didn't respond and get sucked into that negative vacuum. Let's follow our leader's lead.
Namaste,
Krissy
Deepak,
We are on your team. You are so right that it does a disservice to the WSJ's integrity to run personal attacks, especially on someone like you and your family who have done more to help the people of this world promote peace and healing.
I no longer have faith in their journalism so I cannot in good conscience buy their newspaper and I will let them know as such. Unfortuantely, a good part of their conscience is contained in their wallet. I will hold an intention in my heart for Ms. Rabinowitz that she becomes enlightened.
Love and Peace to all,
Patty Ericson
I was appalled to read that sarcastic and snide commentary in the WSJ, equally disheartened by Sean Hannity's inability to let you make the analogy you were trying to make about cancer , how attacking cancer cells ultimately kills everything. I knew where you were going , I'm not sure he "got it". Violence begets violence. That is the bottom line and while I can never understand what is "really" happening with these militant / terrorist groups I know the best thing I can personally do is to heal my inner tyrant. What we can all do is take that Vow. Peace begins with me.
I applaud your bravery and tenacity in shifting our global perceptions.Hopefully one day unity consciousness will prevail and we will see the world as a reflection of the myriad faces of the One.
Keep up the good work Deepak and Chopra family , we love you!
Peace and Blessings,
Jill
Bravo to you and thank you for saying what we all would want to say in the face of a misguided journalist and the WSJ. We are all behind you 100 percent-I also believe Obama will go after the core and not just the 'symptoms'! Thank you!
With Love
Lynn
Thank you for keeping us posted and for your commitment to dissolving conflicts by looking at their root cause.
We do live in a world of cause and effect .
May we all move forward together by making humane, rational and
compassionate choices.

I admire the way you have always deal with beings that are not aware or their consciousness is not ready to listen to what you have to say. Even when they ironically try to attack, you answer always wisely and embedded in love.
As always know that we are…
with you.
I listened intently to the CNN interation in which you were invited to comment and explain your views.
I agree you were attacked for your comments I left a comment on the CNN website to support your right to contribute your view.
What you said was completely taken out of context and manipulated. however
In light of this Deepak it came as know suprise to me to listen to the way you were manipulated throughout the dialogue.
You have so much love and support around you Deepak. The peoples of this world are on the road back to higher consciousness and as light workers we are all being taken out of context and our comments and words maniplutated…you know its hard for them when we invite a reflection to people not yet ready for the path we need to take. Our comments and views are seen as radical because they do not want to take responsibility for there actions.
Know you have the support of spirit and from the many people love you.

To hold the line with gentleness, courage and honesty–what a model you are, to all of us. Thank you.
Good for you..We need more voices to speak the truth..
The Root Cause of all suffering and disquietude is Separation Consciousness. This is the cancer that leads to all death.
The issue is being addressed, at all times, on a cosmic scale.
Lessons are being harvested, and the process is moving forward.
The camp that calls for more separation illustrates its case by moving deeper and deeper into separation. As the Earth's frequencies are boosted, the tumors contract cry out the louder. They are dying, that the collective Body Human can live.
I salute and embrace all who choose life.

Dear Deepak,
More than anyone else I have ever heard your public voice speaks for me. This was especially true in your comments about Jesus on Larry King and in your comments about the disastrous war in Iraq and the need to find a way to reconcile with the overwhelming majority of Peaceful Muslims.
I know that if my book and my writings every achieve any kind of circulation that I would be subjected to the same kind of attacks you are experiencing. Your equanimity in the face of these attacks is truly inspiring.
Just know and breathe in all the love and all the appreciation that the Schechinah, the Goddess has for you. You are a great soul and your efforts are really making a difference. Now that you are being attacked you know you are having an effect.
love and light,
Stuart

Dear Randje,
There is a great Hasidic story by Rabbi Nachman about a ruler whose subjects have eaten a poisoned grain and suffer a delusion. That delusion is that we are separate entities with separate fates and experiences. Only on the most shallow and superficial level are we separate. While it is true that Separation Consciousness leads to all death, it is only the death of the shallowest layer.
In Truth, and in Depth we are all connected in Spirit and Love. There is no need for salvation or redemption because we are already living eternally with the love of the Goddess.
Your photo reveals a wonderful spiritual being, thank you for your comments. I enjoy working with you on the astral plane: healing and spreading divine love and light,
namaste and shalom,
Stuart
