A Shamans View on Living in the Garden of Eden
Waking up is always a good thing.
Slipping slowly out of that dream state you begin to meld today’s reality with last night fantasy. If the night time visions are clear enough you reach for your dream book and capture them on paper. You can already almost smell it, the one vice you have yet to remove, coffee, is about to brew. Mixing yesterday’s gratitude with today’s action plan your mind begins to assemble the day. You pull open the shades, crawl back into the exact spot where your body warmth still waits for you, pulling the covers back to your chin you enjoy the view.
From the front window of your second story, fairy tale, farm house you have a front row seat. The foothills roll out majestically their green carpet like grass, climbing upward until it meets the tree line which appears to be cascading down from the mountain above. Here these two giants of nature meet and begin blending slowly. At this point you can make out the individual ness of each tree, see the shade it cast on the grass around it. Then quickly the forest consumes all and becomes one picture of solid tree tops. This is the place where if it were a jigsaw puzzle, would be the last to be completed.
As your gaze meets the top of the mountain you begin to smile. ¨There you are Grandfather¨ you say as you focus in the bushy head tree tops that clearly define the Araucaria trees. You know they have made their home where the vista is best, perhaps one of the benefits of getting here first; 1000 to 1500 years ago they took their seat and so far no one has asked them to give it up.
The sun begins to call your attention through the window to your left as it peaks over the snow covered mountain top. Courses of song, from the winged inhabitants of your garden, join the low rumble of the river nearby and create a morning symphony.
A lone humming bird dances at the window, peering in, as if wanting a glimpse of you at your best, snug, warm, filled with gratitude and respect, at peace with yourself and the world around you. You close you eyes and bask in the warmth emanating from these early rays of light. You can feel the energy that is now feeding all it touches.
Out your window to the right you see only sky, blue and dusted with traces of floating white whisper angel dust, stirred up from their morning dance on the front lawn. You bow your head and say ¨THANK YOU¨ as you reflect on how fortunate this child of God is on this day, in this place, at this time. You pull the covers off and enter the world that is life, here in the Garden of Eden.
I realize now that like all of you, I live in this Garden of Eden called Earth and when we take those first few moments of the day to stop, look around, in gratitude for all that is our life, we open up the door and allow more of the same to pour in and then before long the Garden is full to the brim with life and healing energy. Soon its bounty begins to pours out over the world around us and then others start to notice their life living here in the Garden of Eden and together we HEAL.
