On a day such as 9/11 it’s so easy to get caught up in hateful feelings. We feel saddness and deep sorrow and
we all remember exactly where we were standing when these events took place 8 years ago. I certainly do. At the same time this is a perfect day to set a new intention and shift our attitude towards peace and love.
When Mother Theresa was asked to march AGAINST the war in Vietnam she turned it down. She then said when you have a march FOR peace then I’ll be there. For me there was a real learning in what she did. It’s a reminder that we should always choose to be FOR something. In any negative situation we can SHIFT our attention towards the opposite. For example; instead of joining the fight against cancer we can be for health and wellness. Instead of being against drug abuse we can be for living a pure lifestyle. Instead of being against hate and terrorism we can be for a loving and peaceful world.
St. Francis presented it to us perfectly…
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
I love this SHIFT in thinking. It has truly changed the way I approach my midlife and I do my best to practice this subtle change daily. Ultimately, it’s so much easier to be FOR something. Wouldn’t you agree?

This Consciousness can change everything. I do agree and live this. Thank you for laying it out so simply while remaining profound.
Blessings to you on this beautiful day.
