Starting My Path to Green

Inspired by Intent.com’s "30 Days to A Greener You" I am going to embark on a path to greening my life. I took the How Eco-Savvy Are You? quiz by Jeff McIntire-Strasburg and didn’t really do so well. Thus, I will be taking small steps in my life and I hope you enjoy my journey and I can inspire you in some way. Wish me luck!

I am taking small steps in my life to to help our planet. If you are too, then share your stories with us. SunChips® brand and National Geographic believe in the power of the Green Effect. If each of us takes one small step to make our community greener, we can create big change for our planet. To get the movement started, they are awarding $20,000 grants to five people or groups with compelling ideas for green change. Submit your green idea between April 22 and June 8, 2009. The colors look so nice and vibrant in this video! Nice to see my home in the background! :)

I am excited to see what you all created and how the journey unfolds.

    Valorie,

Nice post. Good intent. I support it. Here is a green tidbit for all, I came across yesterday. It was reported that post operative appendectomy patients in a hospital had a faster recovery time if they had at least one green, living plant in their hospital room, compared with those who did not. In addition the green plant group came off medication faster. The implication of this for me is that we should all live in greenhouses. So I am eyeballing my spider plants and calculating how many I can hang from my ceiling. Blessings,

    Ed

Hi Valerie, I took the quiz too and it's revealing! The biggest hurdle for me is composting! I don't see myself doing that in my apartment, but who knows…
