We all voted for Obama, or most of us at least. I think we need to start supporting the man we elected for office !!! He gets so much critizam from the other side, he doesn’t need those that voted for him slamming him as well. If you were in his place you might be faltering a bit right now as well. I think he is doing a damn good job so far and has not even been in office for one year yet. Don’t condem the man before he is even half way through his term and give him credit for all he has done, things are improving and looking up. Read the statistics before you judge, know what is going on with all. Just because you personally are not feeling the effects of improvement doesn’t mean they are not happening. Nothing is going to be fixed fast that is not possible. Support the man we elected, and if you didn’t elect him support him to the point that you are at least not being insulting, he is your president. Ok I was not nice to or about Bush but I was not insulting to him.

If you had said this about either GW or GHW I would have to not agree. I could never get behind either of these two. But, I heartily agree with your current position. Well said. Nothing comes from negativity but more of it.
I'm with you as well, Tamera. I have even said as much to people who I know and love out of exasperation with their criticism. Rather than focus on what he hasn't done, we need to support him for what he has done. I know you can say that the road to hell was paved with good intentions but the fact is, he has them which is far more than we can say for some other presidents that we've had. Did we think he was going to come in and all of our troubles would be over? If we did, we need to get real. Just like the work we do on ourselves, it is going to take time and effort on our part to heal what has been done in the past, oh, let's just call it 8 years.
Whatever else he has been doing politically, he has been setting the stage in his approach to politics for us, yes we the people, to take the lead and actively participate in our own recovery. So, yes, I echo you, Tamera, in the call to get behind our president. Let us all focus our attention on him making the right choices, ones that benefit our highest good as a people. I believe he is doing his best to hear us and to follow the good path. Let us also recognize the enormous task he has before him. He needs our help, our verbal support in the small gatherings of people gathered around the water coolers and elsewhere. Our words & thoughts are powerful; ideas change the world, not policies. He did not claim to be our Savior, rather asked us to join him in the fight to heal ourselves. Let's do that. Let's abandon our penchant to strike out at others when we are in pain and begin a new way of being with each other, as a true community of mature minded people willing to accept responsibility for where we are and actively participate in where we want ourselves to be in the future.
Let us all BE the change we want to see in the world.
Peace,
Cheri
