At a recent visit to my doctor, he was surprised (as was I) that I had lost 10 lbs since my last visit 3 months earlier. He of course asked what I was doing differently. I kinda shrugged my shoulders & said, "just walkin’ the dogs". But I started to think about that question and realized that I had made other changes without really realizing it. I had followed the type of eating that Buddhist monks do, which is to not eat (well, only something light) after noon. That and walking my 3 dogs on separate walks on most days, and that was about it. Yes I suppose the eating was a part of it, but the time I got to spend not only with the dogs had made quite a difference in my health, not to mention I got to meet a lot of very nice folks in my neighborhood that I didn’t know before.
Who would have thought?
