Glen Campbell is a 78 year old man from Delight, Arkansas.
He has a wife and children. He’s had a busy career for most of his life.
It just so happens that career included over 70 albums, four which were platinum, one double-platinum. Welcome to 2015!
Thank you making 2014 what it was and for being part of this family for what is to come. There is a lot to look forward to in the world of Intent. We plan on sharing more ways to set and stick to your intentions as well introducing you to some great new writers, interesting new topics and life-changing wisdom and insight.
With the New Year upon us, it’s hard not to pick up on the contagious positive energy of making powerful life changing intentions. New Year, new you, right? Perhaps that means: losing weight, getting organized, spending less, saving more, feeling healthy, learning something new, or maybe even helping others, all of which top the list of the most common goals going into the start of a new calendar year. Unfortunately, new year’s resolutions are notorious for their short-lived journey here on earth. In fact, a recent study by Stanton University showed that just 8% of new year’s goals ever see themselves into fruition. Moreso, this same study shows that only 25% of these goals set will even make it past the first week of the year. Ouch! Now, those are depressing statistic.
Goal-setting can actually be immensely powerful as our beautiful intentions become expressed letting our desires be known to the Universe. But, as the saying goes, “A goal without a plan is just a dream.” Those who succeed in turning their vision into reality go much further. While intention is a powerful first step, it demands additional action steps to actually bring the vision to life.
As an entrepreneur who has spent many new year’s at the goal-setting table, and who has more recently been the facilitator of helping others bring their own dreams to fruition as a coach and mentor, I’ve seen and experienced first-hand what works and what doesn’t in the world of making dreams happen. And, hence, here are my top 7 ways to beat the statistics & Make 2015 your Year to Shine! Continue reading →
Last year, many of our Intent team chose words to focus on in 2014.
Words like “courage” or “fun” became our banners for the days to come and, speaking personally, having a simple focus made life so much easier.
My word being “fun”, I would ask myself: “What is the fun option?” “Would this be fun to me?” “Which choice is more fun?”
It didn’t always mean that my choice was the most frugal or the most realistic.
It simply meant that whatever I was doing was the most fun.
The singular focus was so helpful in easing the anxiety and complication of decision-making which happened to be my issue at the time.
This year I’ll choose a new word. I encourage you to do the same.
Some options? Continue reading →
