Today is Saint Patrick’s Day! Named for a man who was brave and made the most of hard situations, the original Patrick was kidnapped by Gaelic raiders and found God in the years he spent on the Emerald isle. He was able to escape back to his home in Britain only to return to Ireland as an evangelist after becoming a priest.
Are you in a rock bottom moment? Maybe it’s an opportunity waiting to be realized, with out without a little luck! Here are some words of wisdom to bring a little extra shimmer to your Tuesday: Continue reading
I’m out with a new Dear Gabby video, and this one totally rocks. As you know, for the past decade I’ve been a motivational speaker and self-help book author. I wake up every day freaking thrilled to run to my computer and get to work. I am so psyched about my career because I let passion and purpose become my life’s work. And I believe we all have the power to turn our passion into our paycheck. Continue reading
Two years ago the internet got it’s first glimpse of the amazingly effervescent and inspiring Kid President. Partnered with SoulPancake to flood the world with positivity and sweet dance moves, Robby and his brother/filmmaker Brad Montague have released pep talks, books, hung out with cool people, surprised cool people and showed us how to love one another and ourselves. Continue reading
We’ve all been stuck in the doldrums before. We can’t think of anything that tastes good. There aren’t any movies we want to see and nothing on the radio catches our ear. When you’re stuck in that lackluster spot, it can be equally tough to find inspiration for your own work. The thing is, for all the times inspiration hits us out of the blue, we forget that we can also get up and go seek it out! Before you run out of steam… some places to get inspired! Continue reading
Mainstream media is busy these days with all the hard and troubling news to report. Buildings are burning down. Typhoons are destroying villages. Men and women struggle for life and justice is blurry. 2014 has come with much heartache but it has also come with some sweet moments. For example, one videographer captured the moment with runners in the San Jose 408k marathon left the course to shake hands with a WWII veteran who had come out to cheer them on. Runner after runner paused to grasp his hand with both of theirs and left him all smiles on the sidewalk. Continue reading
Again the US is buzzing with thoughts on the latest verdict from Ferguson, MO.
What is freedom? What is reality for young men growing up in this country?
What is justice? What honestly needs change?
Speaking up about change is hard work but arguably one of the few kinds of work that really matter. Continue reading
Wishing you a day of strength, of fearlessness, of feeling free.
Here is a little drop of wisdom from some of our favorites:
We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.
The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.
Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.
Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls;
the most massive characters are seared with scars.
Silence is a source of great strength.
You have power over your mind – not outside events.
Realize this, and you will find strength.
Spiders. Public speaking. Ridicule. Failure.
There are lots of things that appear to warrant fear. No one would fault you for being afraid of sharks or risking it all, but throughout history, great men and women have had a lot to say about the freedom that comes from conquering those fears.
Let us encourage you- you can do the same thing!
You don’t have to be afraid anymore. Don’t believe us?
Here are some of our favorite quotes from some of our favorite people on the subject.
