Thoughts Determine Our Outcomes

As Napoleon Hill says in the opening chapter of his book, "Think and Grow Rich," thoughts are things. In other words, our thoughts determine our outcomes.

Whether we realize it our not, we believe this statement on a conscious or subconscious level. It’s most apparent in the everyday phrases we use. Check out the following list to see how many of these phrases you use and how many more you “think” you can add to the list.

I thought.
You are so thoughtful.
Let me think about it.
Thinking of you.
On second thought.
Give it some more thought.
Think it through.
Think about it.
What do you think?
I think so.
Think big.
Who do you think you are?
Change my mind.
Absent-minded
Do you mind?
Peace of mind
If you don’t mind.
I mind.
State of mind
Set your mind to it.
A made-up mind
Make up your mind.
Focus your mind.
Mind over matter. (If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.)

Lovingly,
Cynthia

About Cynthia Legette Davis

My heart's desire is for us to each experience more peace, balance and joy in our lives and among each other on an ongoing basis. I try to do work that contributes to that in one way or another. Toward that intent, I have written and published two books and a workbook. They are "Peace Be Still: Inner Healing for Racial Harmony;" it's companion workbook, "Peace and Racial Harmony Inside Out," and "I Know How You Feel." All are available at www.peaceinus.net. My newest book, "Peace Tips for Life," is due out in October 2011. I also provide workshops, seminars and keynotes related to life balance and personal peace. I am president and founder of Legette Communications and publish LeisureFun.net, a comprehensive online guide to local community events in South Carolina. My philosophy is: "When people come together positively, great things happen." LeisureFun.net makes it easy for people to find more ways to "come together positively" by providing extensive listings of hundreds of local community events in one place.

Nice post, Cynthia!! This is so true… Our thoughts are so powerful, and most of us don't even realize it! :-)
