The Ultimate Meditation

There are many forms of meditation…but as far as I can tell, they can all be summed up to: consciously focusing one’s attention on something. What is the advantage of meditation and/or what results from focusing one’s attention on something?

When we UNDERSTAND what we are doing and why…we can find ways (shortcuts) that suit our individual needs and fit into our own individual lifestyle. Here some thoughts that might help you (as they have helped me):

My mind does it’s own thing

What it does….does not always fulfill me or make me happy

I always have to be in control of my thoughts

This is work

Is there an easy way?

When do I feel the happiest?

I want to be free from the need to want

I am

Sri Nissargadatta Maharaj teaches in "I am that" to focus one’s attention on I am….only. Yet even I am is a thought…that reflects a belief.

Am I?

Can I be o.k. not being?

Will I cease to exist or do I fear I will disappear?

What am I hanging on to?

I let go

Nothing

Yet everything

Bliss
