UPDATED: Pics of My Father, Deepak Chopra, During his Monkhood Ceremony

I thought I would share these with everyone…

I find it moving, bold and kind of bizarre seeing my father going through this process.  He will be on the streets of Thailand with a begging bowl for the next few days…

Ty Mallika! He looks So Awesome to me! Life is all abt perceptions..u perceive him as ur father, very natural for u to see it as bold and bizarre. I perceive him as a spiritualist and my teacher/guru…so it feels so Great to see him, where in my eyes he shud have belonged to that ascetic world, which I'm so fond of. I'm myself halfway thru' there.

Having said that….without a doubt his Dharma is not there in the ascetic world, even tho I wud love to see him there. His Dharma,as he himself knows damn well is to be there for humanity, for his own family. More importantly for the upliftment of people of the world who are always getting attracted to him, to learn and absorb so much from his teachings.

Hope not he turns from Siddharth to Gautam Buddha:-) most of them aren't going to be happy abt it. But, it has been wonderful for me to hear that he took such a nice break.

    ty for the pics.

    Peace&Love…Sachin

Hi Mallika- thanks for sharing. When were these taken? I have been trying to reach him for some time now- guess he was experiencing another phase in his spiritual journey as a monk:)!!… these pictures are touching, inspiring, and prove the genuineness about Deepak, apart from his humility!

However, I completely agree with Sachin- Deepak belongs right here- his dharma & karma belong in a world which needs people like him more than ever before, when we believe humanity is at the cusp of a quantum jump in consciousness…

    Keep sharing…

    May all beings be happy…

    Malik

Hi Malika- also reminded of something else: My first Vipassana meditation camp, where you too live like a quasi-monk, with a mendicant's way of life. Seeing Deepak like this reinforces how this can not merely be a humbling experience, but also remind us about the ephemeral nature of all things on this plane… we say a monk shuns material things- but is any of this really 'ours', in the first place? What we came in with was only breath, that is the only consistency through the waves of life, and that too shall be left behind here, as we change planes…

Deepak probably is answering a deep inner calling, after decades of genuine work for millions of us. Maybe, just maybe, he has the right to now stop thinking about this world, its problems etc, and experience a different level of reminder about 'maya'…

    Thanks & god bless
